    Hi all

My brother lives in Tullyallen Co. Louth.

He has 3 pre-pay mobile broadband.

He can hardly get a signal sometimes.

Is there any way to amplifiy the signal he gets, I see
some people using tin-cans and plastic tubes etc. to get
    a wireless signal.

    Thanks?

    What modem does he have?

Does it support an EXTERNAL ANTENNA?

Anyone have any experience with this thing?

Was kinda looking for someting I could knock together in me shed.

The modem is the usb stick type, not the earlier yolk that looked like a mouse
the casing is sealed, don't know if opening it would be a good idea.

There is no efficent way of aerial on a modem with no socket. Change it for ANY model with a socket built in for external aerial.

You have to point the dish at a mast and reduce the elevation by about 22 degrees. When dish is vertical it's actually doing signal at about 20 to 25 degrees upward, so dish should be tilted toward ground for horizontal reception.
