i know this is not strictly surfing, but its to facilitate surfing!1
i'm going from drogheda to lehinch tommorow morning
i dont know weather to go by m50>n7>limerick ennis lehinch
    OR
to stick to the lesser roads which is more direct.
AArouteplanner says national roads is 60km shorter and 20mins quicker
but obviously the roads are crappier, but i wont get stuck on m50 or in limerick.. i dont know what to do

what are the roads from m50 to athlone like??
what are the roads from athlone>ballinasloe>loughrea>ennis like:eek:

Well Cunning, I'm a Drogheda man meself, now living in Dublin.

Anyway, I have not done that journey in quite some time. If I was to do it now I would still go the old route: Drogheda - Slane - Navan - Delvin - Mulingar - Tyrellspass, then on for Athlone.

The road from the M50 to athlone is motorway once you get passed the roadworks after Lucan. From Athlone to Loughrea his a combination of motorway and national road, but mostly National.

Hope that helps - enjoy the trip brother.
