:confused:Mark Hughes 'approached to replace Ramos at Spurs'

    Date: 03 October 2008
Tottenham have approached Mark Hughes about replacing Juande Ramos as boss, according to reports today.
The Sun says they offered the Manchester City boss a £20m, five-year deal after Spurs chairman Daniel Levy concluded that Spaniard Ramos is a 'lame-duck manager'.

It says Levy is a long-term admirer of Hughes, 44, and came close to offering him the White Hart Lane job last year after axing Martin Jol.

New City owner Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan is reported to be determined to hang on to Hughes, even though they have demanded he wins them the Champions League by 2011.

Sheikh Mansour said in The Sun: "We want to make it clear that Mark Hughes is absolutely integral to our plans.

"We are lucky to have someone who we believe is the best young British manager — someone who has been successful on the global stage, the Premier League and of course as a player."

Spurs remain rooted to the foot of the Premier League table with just two points from six matches.

Former Seville coach Ramos, 54, signed a four-year contract at Spurs last October.

dont know why it would say that was jol not sacked so ramos could take over? remember readin that they had been chasing ramos since january, half a season before he got the spurs job!

surely they cant think sacking another manager is the way forward, can they?

Breaking News on Sky Sports says that the Club has said there's no truth in this report. (Kinda reminds me of this time last year - " The Club is 100% behind Martin Jol, etc.")

Sun sports writer and tabloid freelancer Ian McGarry has been relieved from his duties following complaints from officials.

The original story published in Friday's Sun featured an article whereby Mr McGarry wrote a so-called exclusive when it was alleged Tottenham officials had been in contact with Manchester City boss Mark Hughes about a £20million five-year-deal move to White Hart Lane.

The official Tottenham website was quick to rubbish the story...

The Club largely refrains from making statements of this nature unless absolutely necessary in order to set the record straight in light of wholly inaccurate reporting.

An article on the back page of this morning's Sun newspaper reports that the Club has made an offer to Mark Hughes to take over as manager during the forthcoming international break.

This story is completely untrue and without foundation and the matter is being discussed with the publication.

So it would seem the story wasn't true after all.

Is there any jewish version of the islamic Fatwa?

If so, then maybe the club should start issuing them against certain members of the press.
