Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

This is for people on disability allowance who are getting rent allowance too.

What I want to know is the rent cap higher if your on disibility?

Ive been trying to find somewhere for awhile and I rent on welfare.ie and found out that the rent cap for living alone is €130 a week.

I havent had any luck finding anywhere suitable for that price.

(There are places but not suitable places)

I was getting really down about it and was talking to my uncle and he said the rent cap doesnt count for people on disibility.

He told me that if your on disability you can get €650 a month.

I went over to my local CWO to find out from her and she said the cap is €130 (€520 a month).

I went back to my uncle and told him that and he said no she was wrong but that they dont like to tell people that you can have more.

    So who is right?

I dont want to try and rent somewhere only to get turned down for rent allowance.

Ive been having so much trouble even finding somewhere that will take rent allowance. The places I can find that are suitable are usually between €700-800.

The answer is no you don't get any higher cut off point for being on disability. you get the same as an ablebodied unemployed person.
