Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Santa Cruz is stranded up front on his own but is doing remarkebly well against Vidic..

Cheers for that stream link. I have Setanta but its raining outside and therefore the reception is gone! Anyone else have this problem??

Santa Cruz's passing is poor but god he does good work up there. His movement is very good.

Am i the onlyone who thinks Ronaldo should actually run for some of the balls instead being spoilt and excpecting to get a freekick every time he fall?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,617 ✭✭✭✭PHB

I know Ronaldo is going down easily ish, but the ref isn't giving him any protection at all.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,910 ✭✭✭✭whatawaster

United fans - "we won it three times, we won it three times, without killing anyone, we won it three times."
Not as bad as the players singing it mind.

    Blackburn have started well.

Why should they? He is not being fouled, and he constantly tries to ref the game himself.

Protection from what? It's not netball they're playin. Samba was stronger and Ooijer just clipped him and United got the advantage.

Protection from being kicked out of the game.

Samba was stronger, I'm not saying that was a free. Samba put out his arm, but it wasn't a free.
But he was literally kicked in the back of the legs, and the ref didn't even talk to Ooijer. And now he's letting Ooijer be overly physical with him.

LOL watch Alan Hutton against McGeady to see a player being kicked out of the game. Has Ronaldo even got the ball enough to even make that judgement?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 40,909 ✭✭✭✭Xavi6

'Overly physical' my eye. Ronaldo's big enough and strong enough for Ooijer if he bothered.

If he stopped playing well, he wouldn't get special attention from the opposition :)

In fairness, there hasn't been a harsh tackle on him yet..

I'm not suggesting he is being kicked out of the game. But if the ref allows all the little things to go, eventually Ooijer is going to go in full whack at some point, because he's been let away with it.

Decent game so far - agree Cruz looking very isolated sometimes

I don't think the way Utd have lined up is the best possible formation.

I don't think Ronaldo has been fouled very much at all

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,103 ✭✭✭estebancambias

that was some strike by emerton a while back.

But he's done nothing wrong to be let away with!

Come on - you can't predict what Ooijer is going to do like that.

Utd not doing great in the centre of the pitch - getting much more joy on the flanks

    Utd getting on top now

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,617 ✭✭✭✭PHB

    what the ****?

Brown you ****er, I just dropped you from fantasy football :)

I wouldn't call it a foul, as Vidic was pushed by a Blackburn into the keeper.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,910 ✭✭✭✭whatawaster

well that was a free out

If he comes out of the game with an injury, it won't be due to any of the tackles made against him so far. It will be because he is not fully fit and is possibly being rushed back because United has majorly struggled without him.

Edit: the keeper was defo blocked for that goal!!

well that was a free out

Ah now. Keeper should be dominating a ball like that.

At least Blackburn might actually venture forward now.

second time a ref has scored for united in as many games,
and regardless Xavi it was foul and should of been a free out.

The Blackburn player 'pushed' Vidic as much as Vidic 'pushed' the keeper, so it was either a penalty or a goal.

Oh come on Wazza, finish that.

he was clearly knocked back by Vidic.

Any decent keeper would have gone through Vidic and got a fist on the ball. He went down easier than a hooker.

    Tell that to his medals.

Normally in situations like that a free out is given.

    Surprised it wasnt given there.

Imo there is too much protection for keepers in these situations and a free shouldnt be given, but questions will be asked when you compare it to some of the frees given for 'fouls' on keepers in similar situations.

Wonder will Blackburn change their game plan much.

Djimi Traoré has Champions League Medal and proably more medals overall - so your point is the worst in the history of boards. ever. I'm embaressed by you.

Berbatov has played 2 perfect passes today, one into Fletcher, one into Rooney. Could easily have had 2 assists.
