Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Cheers...currently showing Sky Sports News yeah ?

Thats a fairly attacking team from City.

Same team we've played for the last few home games. No need to give Pool any special treatment :)

Handy 2-0 win for Pool, Keane to get his first Prem goal in red.

    Handy score draw IMO.

Dropping a striker for an defensive midfielder in an away match against a team with one of most formidable attacking line ups in the league.. Complete MADNESS!!!!!

    umm kyut?

there's many ways to skin a cat...

    :D

And to think a couple of years ago you would have been facing Macken, Sibierski, Croft and Musampa!

he doesn't _have_ to bring masch straight back in he has pretty much a midfielf who's performing well without him and scroing who are on form and performing well keane gets off the mark and he's dropped

keane will need a long run of games to try get some form

dropping him today is madness imo

He_doesn't_have_to_do_anywathing!! He has made a tactical decision and it is perfectly reasonable..

I am guessing that he is going for the 4-2-3-1 line up that has served us well in the past 8 or 9 months.

There is nothing remotely MAD about the decision.

To say otherwise is completely retarded.

Well they are playing at home. With all the money going into Man City, Hughes knows he has to start beating the big teams, especially at home, if he wants to keep his job. Their new owners are very ambitious and seem to be the type who want to see results straight away.

no it's not on sky sports lol

it will be on the stream when the game kicks off

So you wouldn't be crying if he played Keane out on the right and dropped Kuyt?

You are right though, there is plenty of ways to skin a cat..

    If he is playing:

    Masch
    Alonso
    --Kuyt
    Gerard
    Riera--
    Torres

Perfectly reasonable way to skin this particular cat.

Well i don't follow the pool so i wont be crying one way or another...

in fact i'm happy to see he hasn't learned his lesson long may the madness continue imo

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 88,972 ✭✭✭✭mike65

Well the obvious tweak would be stick Gerrard on the right and give Kuyt the day off. Anyway its all by the by.

    Looks like Keane isn't playing...

"Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez brings in the fit-again holding midfielder Javier Mascherano for striker Robbie Keane in his only change from the win over PSV Eindhoven in midweek"

    what madness?

chopping and changing constantly dropping strikers when they come into some form...

the madness of his crazy team selections over the last few seasons?

    hello?

Anyone looking to watch the game today without downloading sopcastTV ants etc....which are **** slow anyways..go to www.iraqgoals.com and click on English in the top right hand corner. There are five channels on the right hand side of the screen and one of these is showing the match today. I have used this several times before in work etc..and the quality is TV standard and you can watch in fullscreen without any buffering issues Enjoy

    Quality is excellent

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,103 ✭✭✭estebancambias

    ye that makes no sense.

    hello?

so one change is now defined as chopping and changing?
Keane, despite his goal, should not be guaranteed a starting spot and Masch has been our most consistent player ever since he arrived here, bar none.
And the system we are playing today has made us the most in form team in the premiership over the last 20 odd games. Kuyt, despite his critics and his limitations has been a big part of that. Riera, being our only real left footer was always going to be picked.

no one change is not chopping and changing the chopping and changing was reference to his previous chopping and changing...

the change in this particular game might not make a huge difference but for the overall form of a player like keane if he's doing well he needs to be kept in the side or you'll effect his overall performances in the long run which is what's most important not today but on going...

if you keep dropping a player who's doing well it will have an affect on him.
keane has been outstanding in the last few games and has EARNED the right to be kept in not that he should be guarnteed a place but has EARNED one.

so to drop him today is mad (not for this one game but in the over all scheme of robbie's progression)

    see?

    hello?

Sometimes he does, this is a tactical decision though, one that many would feel he is right in. Not just dropping Keane for the sake of it

not much good to you guys, but good start from us, nice work from Riera and Kuyt down the sides. Does look like gerrard is playing behind Torres in the Keane roll, but early days yet.
