Why did faux put up the "who won the debate" text vote when the debate was barely a third of the way through?
Cos they replace it with "McCain wins the debate" 2/3rds of the way through.

More to the point, why are you watching it on Fox?

Obama rambling a bit there on the Russian question.

At what point does McCain start winking?

Weak question on Israel there, I think.

    Convenient that he's a CPO.

Ouch - McCain's maybe answer to a yes or no question - partially redeemed with the follow-up but the immediate reaction was "Doh" - can see him getting slated for that.

Obama answered it very smartly I thought.

Go on McCain thank him again:mad:

    Well better sound for me!

Foreign policy was probably a draw so far, though I'm sure others will say otherwise depending on their view.

I think Obama is trying to play the man of action line on Bin Laden. Didn't work for Bush.

Obama didn't mention the words yes, no or maybe.

The question on Isreal is somewhat silly

I'm scoring the debate for McCain so far.

Obama is babbling a little and it doesn't inspire confidence or support.

Two weakish answers there to a weak question (Iran attacking Israel)

    Great last question I thought.

What is not to be forgotten also is that McCain has the idiotic Palin as his 2nd in command. A woman who has previously inquired about banning books, and wants the teaching of Creationism (ie Dinosaurs didn't exist, the world is 6000 years old etc) and is a fan of all forms of warfare. A woman who recently had a live debate cancelled as she was too stupid to do anything but harm their campaign.

Nothing to do with the debate.

    Interesting question to finish.

seeing as israel has promised to attack iran before they attack them , that's a little stupid question from the military guy.

Can't agree with that. Too many digs and fear-mongering from McCain. You coming from a neutral perspective or Rep-leaning ?

I think Obama clearly wins it, but not by a landslide.

    My verdict - Obama wins.

McCain came across as too weak and waffly, he needed to come out strong here and didn't.

I feel Obama took the debate, as said before not by a landslide.

If CNN is really polling from undecided voters it seems that Ohio may yet fall to Obama. With Ohio and Michigan, it decides the election.

I don't think that debate will change too many independents minds.

I'm calling tie. I think McCain had the better answers, but only when he was actually answering questions. As opposed to saying 'my friends' or dragging up used arguments.

Very petty of McCain not to shake his hand, that's just pathetic.
