Finance owing on a car/van?

Could anyone tell me who i could ring to find out if finance is owing on a van? Going looking at a van this evening, just want to check to see if there's finance owing on it.Can i ring any bank and ask for the car finance dept and give them the reg of the van or what? Would cartell.ie give me accurate information…

www.Cartell.ie is your best bet. They have a couple of different types of checks including a HPI check which will tell you if there is outstanding finance on the vehicle.
