The point of the quotation was that no one really knows who Obama is, not even his own wife. I'm not sure that my comments are as idiotic as your reading of them is.
There is a lot known about Obama, especially since he has become a candidate for the 2008 US presidency. Just Google "Obama biography" for 6,140,000 hits! For example:

    Answers.com: http://www.answers.com/topic/barack-obama

    Wiki Biography: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barack_Obama

Michelle Obama is very bright and rather accomplished too, and certainly someone who would know her husband better than us casual web surfers! See Michelle's biography:http://www.answers.com/topic/michelle-obama

As far as truly knowing someone, Geeeeeeeez, I am still attempting to understand myself, much less others understanding or otherwise "knowing" me, especially as I grow, pursue university education, and change (hopefully for the better!).

I would agree usually...but the author of that piece (Carl Bernstein) is a pretty respected journalist to say the least.

Of course he did "take down" a republican president so anything he says must be biased ;)

No, research is one all can do. I checked Media Matters and it has more details on Liddy and others.

Oh and see now that McCain is even telling Palin to stop whipping the crowds into a lynch mob.

Oh please god no. PLEASE. No way, she wouldn't?! Would she?!?
I would absolutely love her to run in four years’ time. By then most of her kids will be grown,” she said. “I’d like her to run against Hillary [Clinton]. She would squash her. She is a real person and we need people like her in Washington.”

I think Clinton would win that contest hands down tbh.

That article, have a look at some of the comments. The first one on the page accuses the democrats of the terrorist remarks being made, saying it was planted.

She probably would I'd say but I doubt she'd get the nomination as she will IMO get destroyed in the debates for the Republican primaries.

As much as she's liked by conservatives, she has upset too many Washington republicans and has made quite a few enemies.

I seriously doubt she'd get anywhere near the nomination.

Consider, she has 100% of the limelight from republicans and isn't able to get a sensible message across. Imagine trying to get a manifesto across with 10 other primary candidates running?

I would suggest you keep your eyes open for Tim Pawlenty for the 2012 primaries.

Well Obama mentione McCain mid sentence at his rally today and immediately you could hear the Boos forming - he interrupted himself:

"None of that. We don't need that. What we need is to vote."

Cheers. Cheers which sounded louder than usual, which made me suspect CNN of tampering with the Gain on the audience mics.

That only happens on Fox, and only happens to their 'enemies' in a disrespectful manner.

So, where is the reporting of all the HATE on the part of Obama supporters? Let me guess, it doesn’t exist? Hmmmm, I guess Obama supporters are all sensible, tolerant, upstanding people, void of any prejudice and bigotry? I think not!

Well, in the act of fairness, I’ll do the job of the biased media who won’t report on anything negative about Obama or his supporters. ENJOY!

Can't believe how volatile those passers by are. I suspect if a pro Obama/Biden march received this type of reaction the 'r' word would be used.

*flags for later enjoyment* Pity i can't fire up the old youtube now, but it tends to raise eyebrows when i give out to my team for doing it, then do it myself ;)

There are droves of boo-ers & intolerant people on both sides. i think the viciously anti-Obama people are more dangerous simply because they have the potential to rally the troops of racism on their side. We really are in uncharted territory. Boos are fine. Yelling "kill him" is not

What was the background to that march? There was obviously some event going on at the time (all the stalls etc etc) in the area of the march. Anyone know what the event was? Was this a conincidence or a deliberate attempt to "stir things up"?

    Straw men r'us?

I don't see anyone claiming that democratic voters are perfect, but for all the antipathy exhibited towards this McCain march in NYC, I didn't see anyone accusing him of being a terrorist, an arab, an Indonesian, a communist, or any of the other hare-brained nonsense easily found at any republican ticket gathering.

And the captions of the video are frankly idiotic. What make the McCain people 'patriotic' in their public showboating, while the hecklers aren't in their vocal dissent? And I could have done without another dose of the 'liberal elitist' shtick.

In fairness, it's NY- they're all brash loudmouths anyway, whatever their political leanings.

Obama always had his blind followers that will refuse to hear out opposing views, but there's a differance between that kind of intollerance and the kind of intollerance that wishes harm: 'bomb obama'- or that is based on an irrational fear that he is part of some elaborate terrorist conspiracy.

"The McCain campaign’s recent angry tone and sharply personal attacks on Senator Barack Obama appear to have backfired and tarnished Senator John McCain more than their intended target, the latest New York Times/CBS News poll has found."

    Source: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/27188680/

"The latest Washington Post/ABC poll has Obama up 10 points among likely voters, 53%-43%. McCain has made little headway in his attempts to convince voters that Obama is too ‘risky’ or too ‘liberal.’ Rather, recent strategic shifts may have hurt the Republican nominee, who now has higher negative ratings than his rival and is seen as mostly attacking his opponent rather than addressing the issues that voters care about."
