    "Damn You Craaaaaig!!!!!"

    "I didn't even say anything."

That was the only scene that I laughed at. It's been really hit and miss so far this season, with more missing in the last few episodes.

I know what they were trying to do with Randy, trying to piss us off so much that we'd find it funny. Unfortunately it just pissed me off, so annoying!

Yep, normally Randy can do no wrong but they managed to make him annoying in this episode. As someone said above, "I'm so startled" was a good line the first time, got really old.

They could've fit the storyline into one episode IMO.

    Sweet, south park is back?

    Yeah, it's airing in America.

I don't agree with the above comments. I felt it was a fine episode. I thought Randy was great as usual.
    "Wave to the camera Shelley!"

Craig did get on my nerves but the ending featuring him was quite good.

The season hasn't disappointed me. Last week's episode was good, the one the week before was excellent and the opener was solid.

I haven't lost faith and I look forward to future episodes.

Pity they didn't use Spielberg and Lucas again, still it was very funny hope they bring back Darth Chef soon, mabey James Earl Jones as the voice just to prove he is still alive.

Jesus, how do they get these episodes done so quickly?

    Hilarious!

That was ingenious. How they managed to do that so fast is incredible...

Just reading now on cnn that people actually were dancing on upside-down cars throughout the land. Uncanny.

Meh is all I have to say. When it first started I was bracing myself for one of the boldest, and maybe even one of the best, episodes that they had ever done. But then it descended into an Oceans parody which I couldn't give a rats about to care enough. This episode had so much more potential!

I thought it was excellent tbh. Amazing how quickly they managed to redo the speeches etc. Literally less than 24hrs. Some brilliant jokes in there.

Yeah the start was amazing, kudos to Matt and Trey for getting that done so quickly. But once the Oceans parody started it was just silly for the sake of being silly. That's for me anyway.

    Great episode.

    I really, heartily lol'd at
"My grandmother, who faked her death on monday"
    :D

Didn't really care much for the whole Obama/McCain storyline but any time Randy was on screen I rofl'd.

That episode was absolutely f*cking brilliant. South Park at its very best. As others have said I've no idea how fast they put these things together. Randy Marsh was the star of the show and making him an Obama supporter was a stroke of genious!

I loved how they ripped the piss out of Americans' reactions to the election. I've been sick of the hysteria from both sides and so I absolutely loved this.

Some of Randy's quotes were fantastic but I particularly loved...
"Obama, well you came and you gave without taking..."

    :D

Randy in the final scene was awesome as well.

Stan: "Dad your boss called he said you're fired."

Randy: "Aww! Goddamnit! Obama said things would be different! That son of a bitch lied to us! I knew I should have voted for McCain!"

    I really love South Park.

just so people know the speaches were generic so they really only had to record them twice for each voice depending on who won.

it was an ok episode, could have been a whole lot better considering Randy - my favourite character - plays a big enough role in the last three episodes i'm quite disappointed tbh.

Good episode, My favourite line was :

    Sarah Palin:
Don't worry, I can always run for Vice President next year in the 2009 election

    :D:D

Call me a cynical bastard, but they have somehow managed to turn Randy from my favourite character into the most annoying thing ever. To me, it seems like Matt and Trey got wind that Randy was a favourite amongst fans and as a result, try to stick him into as many scenarios as possible, but it really doesn't work.

    Episode was average at best

I love it, best episode of this half series so far.

Like a fair few episodes from this season it started off with a lot of promise but just faded into a bad movie parody. There were so many other plots that they could have done and I was loving the episode up until the whole Oceans thing came out. Dont get me wrong its not a terribly bad episode it just wasnt that great either.

When South Park have done movie parodies in the past they have been a lot funnier with a different twist on the story, the day after tomorrow, the night of the living homeless etc. Now it seems that they are just copying the movies directly and just replacing the characters from the film. Then throw in a subplot or two (usually Randy) and hoping it all works out. I mean after you realised that Barack and Mccain were doing an oceans did you LOL at anything from their scenes after that apart from one or two throw away lines? To me some of the episodes from this season seem rushed and IMO that tells me that they are either getting lazy and not really putting the time into the episodes or else they have run out of jokes\stories.

    Too much ****ing singing

I think they realise people think he's hilarious and I'd say he will be in it a lot more from now on, just like what happened with Homer/Bart in the Simpsons.

Elementary School Musical is definitely the best episode of the season. Think most of the episodes have been pretty ****ty so far, so good to see a solid satire. Not up to the quality of previous series, but decent.
Scenes where everyone in the hallway wanted Stan to break into song were hilarious.

yeh that's probably what they are doing :(, hoping it leads to more good randy episodes than bad ones.

the High school musical episode was good, not excellent and thought they would have taken the piss a bit more but was enjoyable nonetheless.

    Scott Malcinson lmao!!

I enjoyed the new episode. I felt last week's was better but it was a strong one nonetheless.
: The singing father was hilarious. I hope he features in the show more.

The Scott Malkinson gags were great stuff, as was
    Cartman's suicide gag
. The rest of it was a bit lacking in edge. Yeah, it was funny-ish, but it feels like they're treading water somewhat. I suppose it's got to be hard to keep that edge after 12 seasons though...

There seems to be a lot of bashing for the sake of bashing in this thread. I mean someone here said they didn't like Cartman!

Thought the Obama episode was very good myself. The Oceans 11 parody was solid but really liked the democrat celebrations contrasted with the republican reaction.

The ungroundable episode on last night was ok. Had a few decent moments.
The scene where Butters tried to bite Cartman was hilarious! Also where the soccer team called the four goths far, pock faced, skinny and something else

this weeks "vampire" episode was good.

for the sheer fact that they didn't blantantly do a paraody of a movie/tv show.

the best scene was butters giving cartman the hickey, there's something about how they draw cartman when he's asleep that cracks me to pieces.

+1 It wasn't my favourite episode so far but it was ok.

Best part was Cartman telling his mam that Butters was gay !:D hilarious

It was average. Not a great episode to finish off the season tho.
    The "Hot Topic" song lol!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,698 ✭✭✭✭BlitzKrieg

I actually just watched the last two back to back...They are both awesome!

the goths were great in the last one :D

ANd the high musical one was cringeworthy awesome!

Overall I liked this season, it didnt have as many individual stand out episodes but overall it was better balanced (didnt have that weird slack from the aftermath of imaginationland from last season)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23,216 ✭✭✭✭monkeyfudge

I only found out about Hot Topic and Twilight in the past week.

Glad I did... as I know exactly the type of idiots they were making fun of.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,698 ✭✭✭✭BlitzKrieg

actually earily similar here, just watched the trailler to twilight this week.

Thought the new episode was very good.
Butters trying to 'feed' on Cartman was a great scene

It was funny, but not that funny. (Then again, I've heard plenty of jokes about how "real goths" hate Hot Topic and the like for trying to popularise a scene based on their pain and misery, etc). That being said, I'm really glad they didn't make it some crappy movie spoof.

Butters made a brilliantly entertaining vampire though, with his weird poses and flinging himself repeatedly out of windows :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 55,590 ✭✭✭✭Mr E

Wasn't a great episode, per se, but it wasn't bad either. Pretty poor season over all, per se.

Butters as a vampire was brilliant though.

I loved it. Any episode with Butters is brilliant. and his parents are gas too.
    "He has become un-groundable"
    And lets not forget
The burn down Hot Topic song
    Goths Vs Vampires
