Maternity Portraits?

Has anyone ever got these done or would consider it? Its fairly wide spread in the States but my local photographer nearly fell off his chair when I asked him if he did it. No need for the vain comments, i'm the first to admit it. But I thought it was a lovely remembrance of such a special time. I've since started photography and work mostly with newborns but all my clients have never considered it. Any thoughts?

I plan on having one done in January on my son's 1st birthday. I will be almost 8 months pregnant at that stage, and I think it would be a lovely momento of his only birthday on his own with us.

We'll possibly take our own, hubby is into the photography too. None of the nudie ones, though, I'd be self concious

This is me nearly 3 years ago, on my last baby



I got the maternity shoot done and then got the pictures of the baby when the baby was only two weeks old.

They turned out lovely... It was to be for a book published for the Rotunda hospital. I signed off forms to allow publishing rights for the pictures, but they were not used in the end.

I think it is a nice thing to have.

that is a gorgeous photograph! and i love newborn portraits. they're my fave to do. the youngest i've done was 6 days old and i've been booked to do twins at the end of the month. i can't wait!!!
