Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

tcpip.sys patch - Vista wont start

    Hey everyone,

I install the tcpip.sys patch for vista x64 and now my machine wont boot because of an error with tcpip.sys

I was just wondering if there is a repair install option on the vista DVD that will repair this?

I'm familiar with the XP and Windows Server "repair install" but I heard the vista one is a little dodgy! I could boot from a live CD and restore the backup tcpip.sys to the original location but I have made a few config/ownership changes that I would like reverted back to default.

I really dont wanna have to backup ALL that data (I dont have the capacity to).

    Any help appreciated.

    Thanks,

    iRock

A Last Known Good Configuration should get you sorted

    1. Start up the PC
    2. Press F8 just before Vista starts
    3. On the Advanced Boot Options screen, use the arrow keys to highlight Last Known Good Configuration, then press ENTER.

Good try but this is for Windows XP and plus he can't even boot up his Windows :-)
A LKGC will most likely succesfuly restore its previous files.

Anyway, in the end I just booted from a live ubuntu cd and copied over a tcpip.sys I'll just have to do without repairing those permissions.

Boots fine now anyway - thanks for the suggestions guys!
