Hi all, I have bought a new mini laptop that has no disk drive. I have a ms office 2003 disk that i would like to install. Its an original and i have the product key.

I know i could use an external cd drive but is there anyway to download the files off the net then put in my product key?

    Shane.:)

Illegal but should work as long as it's the same version..also you extract them from onto a usb stick and install from there.

Yup. You can probably get office from the Microsoft website also.

if you create an iso file of your 2003 disc and transfer it to your mini pc (usb stick) you can them mount the image using free software like magicdisk

    http://www.magiciso.com/tutorials/miso-magicdisc-history.htm

you will need roxio or other burning software to create the iso

    howto here

    hope this helps

Talk about making things complicated :p

OpenOffice works on Linux and Windows, but I dont think MS Office works on Linux machines. Could be wrong.
