Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

People on here have more interest in the England National Team Squad than domestic soccer by the looks of it.

1-1 for City V Harps. Our season was effectively ended Vs Galway last week, Harps are struggling for points, plus Dan Murray, Denis Behan, Danny Murphy, Cillian Lordan and Colin Healy are all either suspended or injured.

Who is playing in the Hunt Testimonial?

If Rovers don't beat UCD tonight, things could turn nasty for Scully. The crowd are already on his back over this Stephen Rice farce and last week's shocker against Cobh tipped a good few people over the edge.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 21,296 ✭✭✭✭gimmick

To be fair, failure to beat that UCD team is almost sackable on its own. As poor a side as ever has been in the premier division.

That being said, I did say earlier in the season that Harps were the worst I had seen in Turners Cross in years.

Was there not a rumour that Paul Cook is at Rovers next season either way?

    SPA's Assistant manager left yesterday.

Could be down Tolka Way next season.

He is the most obvious choice if we give Scully the chop, but we are a fair way away from that. We aren't Bohs, we don't sack successful managers out of boredom. ;)

His contract is up this winter, he only signed on for two seasons with us.

Possibility of him heading "upstairs" as he's very involved in our "relocation" project.

Makes sense. He must be pushing his sixties by now

He's not a bad manager imo.

Did great things with Kilkenny in his time there, and has done alright with a limited Shamrock set up.

Scully is another Pete Mahon by the looks of it, has no idea how to deal with proffesional footballers but does very well with kids that he can boss around.

I doubt Ricer is completely blameless in all of this either. Pat has done well with the resources that a club has when they (shock) deal within a part-time budget and don't break wage rules, and I think he'll get a season in Tallaght. Results like Cobh and Bray (and some of the football) are not acceptable though.

Is Rice not just one in a long list of players to fall out with Scully in the last 18 months or so?

won more silverware with Rovers than Fenlon at Bo*s to date....

Counting the 1st Division as silverware now, how the mighty have fallen. You need to give Fenlon more respect, he won us the cup in the 90s.

I'll bookmark that and bring it up next season when you are trying to win it.

    Des,

DK has already said publicly there is no "upstairs" at a part-time 1st Div club.

This year is his first at trying to get us up so hopefully he'll stay if we don't. I'd assume he'll be given the chance.

Fine but as with the League Cup I wont be counting it as silverware if we do win it, can I bookmark the "Scully has more trophies than Fenlon in current jobs" post and bring it up in a drunken post in 10 hours?

Or maybe the question should be what they could've done at Rovers..

Scully should last the season and probably more I'd say. A year on his contract..

2-1 to bohs...JASON ****ING BYRNE. I love LOI league title games..the scenes are always class.

the scenes at united park now are why supporting your local club is a million times better than supporting a foreign team in my opinion.

One win from eight against Finn Harps, Cobh Ramblers and UCD this season and that was away from home. :o

    City 1 - 1 Harps.

Good god, we were utter rubbish in the 2nd half. I am surprised Harps did not beat us. Getting interesting at the bottom.

Big lol at SPA. Not only losing to Cobh, but 0-3 at home.

Well you haven't had a successful manager in 14 years to have the option of sacking them have you? :)

Oh really? :D. Anyway, he hasn't won anything with Sligo .

I have to say I thought Dundalk had it wrapped up ages ago.
They were 8 points clear at one stage!
For us even to be near the top of the table is some achievement.
Just have to hope for the best for the rest of the season now...
Does anyone know if Gorman and Forsyth started again?

Nah it was Flood up front alone. He was immense. What a player. Mark Rutherford is a living legend. We're going up. We really are.

Hope Cooke doesn't get it. Would love to see Sean Connor get it, or maybe Doolin :).

Back to the taxi driving Scully :pac:...
