Question on booking cattle to factory

Wondering if someone can answer a question.
Is it possible to book cattle into the factory "that day" or must they have been booked in the day before. Also factory prices, if you ring up is it difficult to get a firm answer on the range of prices per kg they are quoting or will the office staff put you in touch with a buyer/agent.

    Thanks,
    P.J.

It depends on the factory and the number of cattle already booked for that day - if they need cattle to meet their demand, they will let you bring them in at any time, if demand is slow, then slaughtering will be slow.

I find that they will rarely give you prices over the phone either (especially that factory in Roscommon - u know the one i'm talking about), this allows them to reduce prices if they have an over supply.
