I have been having problems connecting to a website for the last few days, I'm not going to say it just in case I'm breaking the rules here but it's a very popular site for downloading warez off. I've tried everything to get it going like the clearing cache, history, cookies et. al. I also rang eircom and you might as well talk to a wall. I went through a proxy as well and it was working fine. I was wondering if somebody could help me as it's just too slow with a proxy. Thanks in advance and sorry if this is in the wrong section.

    Is it a http:// site or https://

    What browser are you using?

    Can you ping the website?

    Can you ping your DNS?

    It's with eircom.

Ok, on your Desktop go to "Start Menu > Run" or hold down "WIN + R" to get the Run box (bottom left of the screen).

    Enter "cmd"

    Type "ping 213.94.190.194"

Do you get reply from or request timed out?

    Type "ping 213.94.190.236"

Do you get reply from or request timed out?

Type "tracert www.insertwebsitehere.com >C:\tracert.txt" (obviously, put in your site you can't access).

That file "tracert.txt" is now in your C: drive so copy and paste the details up here.

Try ipconfig /flushdns in a command prompt.

Hop 12 should be the server that you're trying to access, but it's not responding to you (works fine for me).

Is it possible that your IP is blacklisted?

Try powercycling your router for 30 seconds because the BAS server your on and IP connected with, seems to be causing very high pings in that tracert, strange one. Looks like the IP may have been blocked before.

    No problem, glad to help.

Whatever the problem, in my experience (in DSL anyway) powercycling fixes the program 80%+ of the time.

    Cheers!
