I had been thinking about psychology and secondary school teaching and have to admit that the psychology talk at NUIG completely won me over yesterday. I think I'll do psychology through arts as it leaves my options open if I don't like it and want to do teaching instead! :)

What are you guys thinking of doing????

*Was there anyone else at the introduction to arts degree talk at NUIG yesterday who thought that Theatre/Drama course lecturer was hilarious!!!! I've never laughed so hard in my life. Imagine if all teachers were as enthuasiastic as him. Respect. :D

Awh that Theatre and Performance guy was sooo funny, couldnt stop laughing!! Id love to do that course.....but they only take on 15 people?!?! crazy!!

About my courses, thinking psychology or somthing with music!

hahaha, I was in awe of that fella. The hand actions were brilliant! Yeah only 15 places for the connect programmes.

The lecture halls are so much more comfortable than school desks too. I can't wait to get my 'bum in a seat'!!! Remember that guy? :D

Yeah, psychology is really interesting, they guy was superb, and there's job prospects! Doing it through arts would mean lots of hard work to get into year 2 if you wanted to keep it on though! So much for the old theory about 'arts students' :pac:

Maths or physics or engneering or something. I dunno really. I'm going to the UCC open day tomorow so I'll see what's the story and hopefully I'll have a better idea of what I want.

hopefully i will be doing midwifery in ucd, heres hoping the points dont shoot up:)

psychology in trinity seems like (a) a good and interesting course and (b) good excuse to plow into studying and get the 560 points that i will never get ha

maybe english on it's own but psychology is more secure, Open Day will settle my first choice for all!

Haha ya that was funny, wasnt that the creative writing guy? and then the film studies lad said it as well! Have you any idea how they pick the 15 students for the connective courses?!

The lecture halls were sooo packed for psycology, seems to be alot of interest!

Ya it sucks about having to be in the top 100 to go through to second year....or be in the lucky 15 who get transferred. Although i think i would rather do psychology plus another subject and then do the conversion thing. Its kinda confusing though lol

    Science Education in DCU hopefully.

I get to specialise in 2 subjects and teach them to Higher Level Leaving Cert. My two chosen subjects will be Chemistry and Maths. No way will I teach Higher Level LC Maths though. Way too much responsibility on such a difficult course.

I'll also be covered in Junior Science and Junior Maths. Should be fun 5 or 6 years down the line.

Haha yup I was there too! A funny guy, not sure if I'd like him as a lecturer though :S I also though the psychology lecturer was brilliant. I definitely want to do the denominated psychology programme if I got the points. Otherwise I'd opt for arts. The Connect programmes sound really interesting, particularly Human Rights and Women's Studies, it's such a shame you can't take them with psychology though :(

    It's pronounced "Wimmins Studies"!

I dunno, if they had Men's Studies, there'd be uproar if it didnt just consist of eating meat off the bone, and drinking ale/beer/stout/etc.
