I have to say (and I hate to) Montauban are worth the score at the moment.... my god where are Munster?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,762 ✭✭✭✭Inquitus

As long as we win it's all good, lets just focus on that.

Another Munster penalty - O'Gara hits the top of the post. Nice take and mark by the Montabaun player.

    60mins - Munster 13 Montabaun 14. Next score crucial.

Munster were 250/1 on to win this! What is going on?

Cast, there is another link in the other thread... no idea what it's like but might be worth a try

Its alot like Leinster v Connacht last week or Cardiff letting Leinster get the draw a few weeks back, most of the ball, all of the try scoring chances, but just not hooking it up, and giving away bad penalties, bad turnovers, not a great performance.

I don't think you're giving Montauban enough credit. They've been very physical, tackled and kicked well. Munster are making a lot of errors akin to Leinster against Connaught.

    O'Gara penalty

Munster 16 Montabaun 14. Pucciarello on for Hayes.

Show me a side that ever won the HC without a performance like this, the win is important, play badly and come out with the result. I was in Coventry for the Saracens game, a game much like this we could have lost and perhaps should have.

    becoming?

They have needed to sort that out for awhile now

Another ****e lineout and turnover. A losing bonus point is beyond Montauban's wildest dreams.

    Penalty Montabaun

    76 mins Munster 16 Montabaun 17

Montabaun will at least get a losing BP.

Munster penalty, 20m slightly right hand side of posts.

    Should make it . . . .

    . . . . and O'Gara does.

78 mins - Munster 19 Montabaun 17. Drop goal anyone!?!

    Attendance 23,500.

Horrible watching this, can we hold on? Our basics have been bad.

Munster will be very lucky to get away with this.

    250/1 on to win this

what the **** is going on

To play this badly and win is a relief. The BP is largely irrelevant.

I wouldnt worry if theres one thing Munster are good at its killing the game completely and shutting up shop Munster will come away with this. Good effort by Montauban though

    a win is a win.

Glad they didnt get that down. Would have been cruel to rob them of a deserved bonus point

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,155 ✭✭✭juvenal

    Game over.

    Munster 19 Montabaun 17.

Very poor performance by Munster, but main thing is the win. Kudos to Montabaun, who while rarely threatening the Munster line, excelled in defence and took their opportunities. Barring some dodgy kicking, they could've come away with a shock result.

Munster may look back and think they should've had a BP at home, but they'll be relieved to get the win at all. This is the type of group where BPs will be a factor.

    MOTM Montabaun scrum-half Mitu.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,884 ✭✭✭madds

Fair play to Montabaun who were not at full strength. Not often you see a French side compete so well away from home.

Aye just like we tried to kill the game there by nearly scoring a try

The French showed their inexperience by not being able to kill it at that last ruck of theirs.

Honestly why are you so defensive all the time I was simply pointing out Munster are good at shutting down the game thats not a bad thing.

+1 well done Munster on an awful win and well done Montauban on a very credible loss

Munster were dire there if thats the best the ML has to offer in the HC id be slightly worried. Words just cant describe how bad they were it looked like if it was Munster who were playing in the HC for the first time.

Tends to happen with consistent smart remarks made within a certain rivalry

I'll guarantee you now the ML will have more teams in the Q/F than the GP, thats a no brainer.

Nah Namibia ran the ball through their wingers remember? :p

Mauntaban definitely had the better game plan for the conditions, Earls was exposed surely Sale with their kicking game will say that their number one plan should to put the ball on top of him

Munster have had some terrible games and still done well. Best the ML has to offer? It was one game, they played bad. You can hardly slate an entire league for one teams bad performance on a wet friday night in limerick

All Sale have is a kicking game, they are very poor, like the rest of the GP this year.

Montauban were without arguably their best players: Delasau, Paku, Rosalen and Diarra. If they show the same committment at home they will be hard to beat and bonus points will be very difficult to obtain.
