When it comes to anything musical i have the iq of a pigmy shrew and the voice of a crow. However i may soon be forced to partake in a 'sing song'.
I need to learn a song thats both extraordinarily easy to sing with lyrics a bellow average parrot will pick up in no time. Suggestions welcome.

Do you not have any songs that you like? I'm just saying, it would be easier to sing a song that you actually know and like than something random just because it would be easy to sing.

    Just my 2c

Of course but itd be mainly indie stuff that perhaps wouldnt be the norm for a country sing song. I never remember the lyrics to songs i like either just the main one or two lines. The song has to be well known too, the idea being everyone else will join in.

i too have the same afflictions,

i have managed to learn, Oh Ro the Rattlin Bog, which you might say would be out of place anywhere other than a hoolie in a bog but it does the job.
and if they dont know it already then they will after a few verses.

Queens of the Stone Age - Feel Good Hit of the Summer

    It goes:

"Nicotine, Valium, Vicadin, Marijuana, Ecstacy and Alcohol"

And then the chorus is "Co-co-co-co-co-cocaine!" :D

You could try Yellow Submarine-The Beatles....if Ringo Starr can do it, so can you!
My Lovely Horse from Father Ted, so even if your voice is as bad as you say, you can always pretend you sang for comedy value ;).

"Stuck in the middle with you"

Google the lyrics yourself if you really want them.

Depending on what country / part of country you are in, rebel or trad songs would go down well in most cases. That, and people usually know the words.

"At a medium Pace" by Adam Sandler.

Everyone loves that song. Especially grannies and little children..

    :D

some very interesting suggestions. Trad / beatles prob best although My Lovely Horse is very interesting. The girlfriend however never watches tv but is a very smart dresser, someone once mentioned to her that she reminds them of Carie from sex on the city. While explaining who carie is I overheard the word carrie and started giving out about her and the show (a bit tipsy i was) and i mentioned i think she looks like a horse. For the rest of the night people were singing my lovely horse at her so im not sure itll go down too well.

God you landed yourself in that one :p

Leaving on a jetplane, Country roads....the choruses in these always get people going. Country roads might be easier to sing.
