Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Pippacoo - I have the maxi cosi mura,it rocks.
You can get a buggy bored or similar but no it isn't a double buggy, the phil and ted type ones are single and double and the icandy pear (think it is the pear)

Question: If you go for a 3 in 1 Travel system which has the car seat, stroller and pram all fitting to the one frame .... how long can you expect to get out of the car seat? Does the baby grow out of the seat quickly enough? Do you then have to get another car seat? Also, my car is pretty old and doesn't have the isofix bar I'd say, so do you need to buy a base to attach the car seat to in the back (with seatbelts)?

Car seat is usually a group 0 one so depending on the child 0-12 months.
The maxi cosi one can take children until about 15/16 months depending on their size and weight.
It is the law that a child is rear facing for the 1st 9 months and advised until they are about 4.

You don't need isofix for a base, some attach with the seat belts.I do highly recommend getting a base if you are going to be putting the car seat on the buggy frame.Mostly to save your back.

Any opinions on Gracco travel system (car seat, pram and stroller) v phil and ted, first child on the way, hoping for more but not sure whether we should consider this when purchasing travel system - there is too much choice!

    The quattro tour one?

    It depends...
Neither of them allow the baby to face you except in the car seat.

The Quattro tour has a huge shopping basket is really comfie for baby.
The downsides are it is heavy and the wheels on it drive me mad. They are plastic on ours and our main buggy has pneumatic tyres which I find so much easier to deal with.

We don't have a Phil and Teds but am looking at them at the moment, tested the o baby tandem out a week or 2 ago and was quite impressed. I still hate the idea of one baby behind the other though.
It is quite light folded, folds quite small and is great for pot holes and off road with the pneumatic tyres.

I am not a huge fan of 3 wheelers but it definately serves its purpose.

I had a Graco Mirage travel system for our daughter 9 years ago
    http://www.graco.co.uk/en_GB/product/7M87/PEGE/

It went from our house to my brothers and did fine for my 4 nieces and is coming back to me in time for Christmas
    best investment ever IMHO

Silver Cross Prams are good as well

We've a Silvercross Surf and use the MaxiCosi Cabriofix carseat with Isofix base. It fits the Surf once you have the relevant adaptors.

Love the Surf - Wouldn't change it for anything

I wouldn't buy anything from BabyElegance!! I bought my daughters stroller a Pocco and it collapsed with my daughter in it! I only had it 8 months and didn't use it too often. when I rang the company I got a girl on the phone and she could not have been any less bothered when I told her what happened she didn't even sound surprised! They're level of customer service leave A LOT to be desired! i'd advise to stay away and go with another brand, which does pain me to say as I would always try and support Irish companies, but they are rubbish if you have any problems!

same goes for quinny and mothercare..... Had constant issues with wheels being punctured ... Costing 8-10 euro a wheel to be fixed each time. I was using my buggy in.Cork city.--- not rugged terrain which these buggies are intended for.
Apparently, wheels are not covered under guarantee... Which is weird considering they are an essential part of buggy.

I ended up spending 60£ on different tyres on eBay to stop the issue.
I am reluctant to support mothercare /quinny in any form since this issue. I love the buggy itself but the experience with the companies left a lot to be desired. I got the Monday morning job buggy ... And got no satisfacton despite spending 750 euro on buggy... Not to mention the cost of repairing buggy every time our wheels punctured..... About 300 over 12 month period.
