Hi! We are going to be in Dublin for a weekend and would like to know if there is going to be a samhain parade with fireworks. If so, what date, time and where?
    Thank you.

You will find it hard to find samhain celebrations in the city. The norm is for people to have their own little parties in their own houses. That's what we did anyway growing up. Large celebrations with traditional food with our extended families, traditional games and good fun.

City centre will be fun, packed pubs and lots of fancy dress, but regarding family fun, it will be in the comfort of peoples homes.

Go to any council housing estate and you will find a grand display of fireworks and bonfires. Don't know if they do it for Hallowe'en though.

    Ballymun

This year’s "Otherworld Festival" moves to the new plaza in front of the Civic Centre on Main Street Ballymun and will feature a medieval village with plenty of homegrown talent performing in the festival marquees and tents. The festival is proud to announce the arrival of Circus Gerbola who will be in Ballymun for 5 day from the 1st of November and will preview their show for us on Halloween night. The festival will also feature the amazing work of "Melimage" who will transform the Axis Centre into a castle with spooky monsters and incredible visual images. The festival will close with a spectacular fireworks display. The "Otherworld Festival Village" will open from 6pm until 8pm with fireworks display at 8:15.

blow a massive budget for two poxy hours, typical

when you think that halloween is the most famous festival that this country produced and we dont promote it all, What a wasted opportunity

Sure the tourists prefer the artificial con job that is St. Patricks "week" Im sure

What is the massive budget, how much is it coming to? Why is it not worth it? Sorry, I don't know much about this event.
