My previous set of Swans were slated for no detail and white balance all wrong.
I can see some improvement here on these 2 from tonight, bit noisey as was getting dark.

Black and white photos are very flattering. Which is why I don't like them.

I stayed at a friends house in town last night. This is a kitten, called Turtle. There was really bad light so this shot isn't the sharpest but oh my god, what a cutie! We had dogs & birds growing up so unusually enough for an over 30yr old, this was my first time ever playing with a kitten. :rolleyes:Processing more shots later!!! :D

    Hi,

If you have time can you post up a bit about what you learned between these two shoots. I need to learn about this stuff myself.

    Thx.

He just wanted to be an insect. All his life. He knew something wasn't right when he was growing up so he went to a backstreet surgeon and had the job done. Unfortunately, two legs from one side were removed. He's now roaming the streets, lopsided. It's a heartbreaking story, but there's a lesson in there for all of us...

Remember I am only learning this type of shot and others will know far more.
    Anyways

I didn't use AWB (auto white balance but used the relavent one at the time)
I used Spot metering and I made sure not to overexpose.
I also used my 100 2.8 Macro lense too and that is known to be particularly sharp, funny thing is I wasn't that close and at a terrible angle.

Dying to have another go at easier to access Swans. :)

Also the new settings also improved my water as here it was b4, note Peadar's comment as well as the water diff.
