Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hey
I was let go at the end of july this yr and I've been reciving the dole since the end of auguest, got my back pay and all,and have been reciving it every wednesday since, when I recived comfirmation that I was accepted for the benefit I also recived a letter stating, that I had to come into the social welfare office and sign on the 17th of september, but I then recived a letter then some days later, stating"due to the increase in the live register, your signing day has been changed to wednesday 15th oct, this overwrites any previous instruction in respect of signing dates",Im just wondering do I have to bring anything with me?besides my social welfare card.

    thanks

In my office I just show my card and literally just sign on.

I applied for jobseekers allowance probably about 6 weeks ago and at the time the person behind the counter gave me tomorrows date and a time between 9.30 and 11. I never got any letter from the SW.
What are the chances they made a balls of it and they'll look at me as if I've 10 heads tomorrow? Kinda need the money like.:(

Yep feckin waste of a morning. Went all the way to Maynooth from Clonee with all my stuff and yer wan behind the desk just asks for my SW card and asks to "Sign here please". Did that & she goes "Thank you". And I'm like "Am I not supposed to get a cheque or something?" (have been waiting 6 weeks) and she goes "You'll get a letter within 2-3 weeks".
Jesus, I'm lucky I dont have starving kids or anything.

The disparity between the different Social Welfare offices is unbelievable. 10 years ago it took 4-6 months to get set up here in Dundalk on the dole. I walked in a little over a month ago and got my money no problem. I know lads in Dublin who have been cut off for no reason.

When did you get the Social Welfare card? Are you meant to pick it up in a post office? You really should've looked into this sooner.
