Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hey folks,

Just wondering if anyone here has a Leupold mark 4 or a bushnell elite 4200 or 6500 or similar (target turrets, side focus, 20x mag or slightly above). If so what model, where did you get it and how much did you pay for it if ya don't mind me asking. Feel free to pm me if ya want with the last bit of info.

My brother wants one for his rifle and has his eye on the above two, I would ring round for prices but cant in work. He is going to ring around tomorrow or the day after but I just wondered could the good folk in here recommend anyone they have dealt with for the above before he goes ringing.

    Thanks in advance,
    Veg.

I have a Mark 4 LR/T 8.5-24, Ilum TMR Ret. He's more then welcome to have a look if we can find a time and a place that suits. Bought in the US and brought back by hand by my self along with a Peli hard case. Was about €1100, best quote here was something like €2k

    Thanks for the offer Rew

2k are you serious that's a complete rip off. Christ I'd say the budget will have to come in a few quid if that's what folk are trying to charge for glass here. You'd fly to America buy the scope and make it home for cheaper than that 2k price.

Yup Im flying to Florida for about 500 quid return soon so I could go there buy it and still be up a couple of hundred :D

Like I said no hassles if he wants a look I shoot down Tulamore way but wont be there for a few weeks.

Its a fantastic scope, the TMR is a lovely reticule and is specfically designed for tactical style shooting.:

    Edit: TMR info

Keep an ear out for second hand ones cause i picked up a zeiss 5-15x42 for €500 second hand and it is in perfect condition less than 100 rounds went through the rifle. http://www.digitalfotoclub.com/product-features.asp?id=964591004

    Thanks folks,

Some great links there. The Zeiss Conquest 6.5-20 x 50 looks a savage scope. Second focal plane by the looks of things but I don't really mind that.

Vegeta, my Scopes are not in the league of some of the scopes that the lads are using, but they work.

I have a leapers on my 22.250, a fox scope on my 243 and a weaver accutrac on my .22 and all work well.

Have a look at the link for the fox Tactical its a fine scope and very reasonable to buy.http://www.foxfirearmsuk.com/mainpagefront.htm

Example: My friend has a Mannlicher Schoener .243 and a Schmidt & Bender scope combined cost 2500 Pounds.

I have .22-250 Parker Hale with a leapers scope combined cost approx 550 Pounds, results the deer or fox is just as dead after being shot with either rifle/scope.

Vegeta you should come along to the Vintage Classic shoot in the Mid-Lands on the 16th on November we are going to have a bring and buy or swap sale at it (no firearms or ammo or traders), you might pick up a nice secondhand scope there.

have a bushnell elite 4200 6-24x44, leup mk iv 8.5-25x50 with IR tmr ret and a zeiss conquest 6.5-20x50

it's great glass but as money appears to be an issue I'd suggest you look at a Falcon Menace 4-18x56 with ML-20 ret

    http://www.falconoptics.com/menace4.5-18x56.php

EUR250-300, it gets you a lot of scope for the money....kinda like the European equivalent of the bang for the buck from a bushnell in USD prices (not the ludicrous euro retailers EUR prices).

or you also have the MTC viper 6-24x56 in similar price range
