Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Hello all, was just wondering if ye could help me please.
Recently signed on, I was told that because I did not have enough contributions that I wouldn't be entitled to the proper dole and I would be means tested. The thing is I've been in full time education all along up until May, and any holidays I've had I've always been in full time employment, and in part time employment while in full time education for 3 years. Is this not taken into account?

Also, I got back from states end of August and foolishly didn't sign on straight away because I thought I wouldn't have much difficulty getting a job, anyway it was over a month before I applied for social welfare. Is it possible to get my welfare backdated for the time before I signed on?

Thanks for yer time people :)

The current relevant tax year is 2006 so

You need 39 weeks paid PRSI in 2006,

    OR

26 weeks paid PRSI in 2006 , and 26 weeks paid PRSI in 2005

in order to qualify for the full amount.

    Sign on, get decision, appeal.

Backdating is a bit of a nebulous issue. If they don't sign you back, appeal.

I've written on this board several times, sign on, appeal.

Does nobody ever freaking read old posts?
