great deal, but couldn't afford it and tax is up.

what has that got to do with anything ? No matter what car you buy, you're going to have to tax it.

Why didn't you say you'll only buy cars that are taxed, because if that's the case, the list will get very short, very quick.

I'm not even factoring in that most people selling their cars deliberately do not re-tax them before selling.

As eoin_s says, but I'm sorry, I can't commend that car at anything like that price. Besides, if you do find a nicer car somewhere at the same money, you just have to knock 200 off and you can walk away from the deposit.

    Ode To The Motorist

“And my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, generates funds to the exchequer. You don't want to acknowledge that as truth because, deep down in places you don't talk about at the Green Party, you want me on that road, you need me on that road. We use words like freedom, enjoyment, sport and community. We use these words as the backbone of a life spent instilling those values in our families and loved ones. You use them as a punch line. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the tax revenue and the very freedom to spend it that I provide, and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise I suggest you pick up a bus pass and get the ********* ********* off the road”

Hey Plastic-man. No offence but why do you ask for peoples opinions (the poll) and then argue with them.

As with what other posters have said I would go for something different with a bit higher spec/ slightly higher power for similar mileage. Like this:
    http://www.carzone.ie/used-cars/Nissan/Almera/1.5sport/1225716/

I know its higher than a 1.2 but theres probably €500 off the asking price up for grabs and you could spend the savings on insuring it.

This may not be the best example but there are loads of them.
