i can see where you're coming from, but in the vast vast majority of cases i always prefer the manga.

a good imagination can create an atmosphere from a manga that an anime never could :pac:

i agree tho that sometimes a fight comes across better in the anime, trigun being a good example! reading the fight scenes in that manga can give you a headache cuz there's so much going on on the page.

finished watching Kimi na Nozomu Eien last night. Great story... but if anyone else saw, tell me, is it wrong for me to think that the ending wasnt what I expected? I didnt want that to happen at all!

Started watching Clannad this morning, was in Tokyo last summer and that was all the rage, so I'm finally sitting down to see what the fuss is all about

That's on my list on ones to watch, after Code Geuss I reckon. Finished watching Basilisk last night, kinda predicted the ending but still good.

Claymore....again. Really can't get bored of it and the animation is incredible.
New season of hagane no renkinjutsushi is a bit boring so far, was looking forward to it so I'm a little disappointed. Hate the way they redesigned couple of characters too, why mess with perfection, baka tare! Gah!

I've only just started reading manga, a friend of mine gave me GTO volume 2. Very different from the comics I'm used to and having to read it backwards was confusing in the begginging but the story is very good. I just bought vol. 1 but have discovered that there's a huge amount of these available, 20 odd volumes or so. Rather than having to read every single one can anyone recommend which ones are worth purchasing?

The managka's art style is amazing.

*edit* I cannot believe that the middle of the manga title was censored by the forum software. It's Ku-ro-shi-tsu-ji anyway.

while i am happy that meloncholy got out of its 8 episode long practical joke, it has now seriously gone into very dark territories and has turned what was one of the more light hearted episodes of the original series into something insanely dark.

borderline rape scene

Like alot of new addition to good series i like recently (FMA brotherhood, macross frontier and meloncholy season 2) I am rather confused on whether I like it or not. The idea behind the 8 part practical joke was good, but it dragged on too much and the pay off was far too small and now its goin into too much detail into something that worked really well as a one off episode. though

I would like to learn more about the cat that randomly popped in and out of the original series, so all is forgiven if the next episode actually addressess the cat

a borderline rape scene, she was drugged and was about to be kissed, I don't think Suzumiya would have forced Koizumi to rape her, what was way more intense was Kyon nearly beating the living crap out of Haruhi.

I recently started watching Eureke seven, it is pretty damn class! Really reminds me of Code Geass but has hints of Evangelion in it with the whole mysterious story behind Eureka's origin *cough Rei Cough* :P

Cowboy Bebop is by far my favorite anime though:D

it be the greatest . However, much of the episodes are removed due to certain circumstances, only the voicing remains; in fact these scenes are thought not to have been finished in time. so i have to wait for the dvds

Just finished watching the new Haruhi episodes, after the first season I was totally dissapointed (look up the episodes "Endless Eight" to see why) and save for about 3 episodes the new season was balls.

Will be moving on to watch Zan Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei now, as well as K-On!, Xam'd Lost Memories and Ergo Proxy.

Moyashimon I wasn't expecting much when i started but wow this show was cool. Instilled the same joy I got from watching Genshiken
Dogs: Bullets & Carnage Very cool show, Kinda like Black Lagoon, pity it's so short.
City Hunter I had to see what the Anime was like considering Jackie Chan starred in the Live Action version. He's like Golgo 13 mixed with Kentaro from golden boy.

Just read todays shippuuden. I know Naruto was never the greatest written manga... but todays... man its gone downhill.

I read the script for it last monday, and literally chalked it up as being some poorly written fake fanfic by a 12 year old, but it turned out to be real. Just plain cr*p.
