Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I installed this version yesterday over version 8.04 and it is brilliant. There were lots of little things that did not work under 8.04 but do under 8.10. My Eee PC gets about 4 hours on Ubuntu... it gets 7 on Windows

Looks like Ubuntu does not maximise battery life by default so you're into tweak city.

For starters in power management preferences there are settings for when to dim the display, blank the screen, hibernate and sleep, but you've probably tried that already. To eeek more you could install powertop, it'll scan and report problems and suggest changes which you can accept. hth.
