Went last week -WHAT a club, really justifies its reputation. Alex Under was amazing. Got me thinking, is there anywhere in Dublin that would fill up for a (relatively) obscure Dj / Producer? I'm thinking Tripod / Tivoli would - if they started charging 10 or 15 e instead - sure Garnier was €40 last time he was here which is disgraceful! It seems anyone without a top 10 hit ala Eric Prydz / Morillo can't get people in and thats not what DJing is about. Saw Damian Lazarus in a 3/4 full Spy and he was brilliant. However, do u think the lazy attitude of the average Irish punter will deter others from coming over?

it's our opening hours as much as it is anything else...

most people don't bother heading out till after midnight nowadays, and then when they do get in to town they hit a late bar which stays open as late as a club does, and then they go off to a house party...

smoking ban + lack of small to medium size venues that support underground music + earliest closing times in europe = a joke

Aye, the club scene here is an absolute ****ing disgrace. Can't really imagine things ever changing for the better either. There are some great nights going on in smaller venues, but to fill any kind of large venue you really need to bring in a total cheesemonger otherwise the place will be empty. Danny Howells played in Galway last weekend and the place was supposed to be half full at the most.

Can't wait to go to Fabric again once I've moved over, had a blinding time there just before Crimbo last year (Hype, Andy C, Bukem and dangerous amounts of jagerbombs!)

Well Felix Cartal is playing the Button factory in a few weeks and its only €8 for a ticket, which wont sell out,

but, its a start. If a half decent crowd shows up, im sure the button factory will move to bring in some other DJs in the near future......
