Is this the next thing to make the city car crowd gleefully wag the finger at us for being filthy, dirty, manky owners of the "guzzlers" as we pay through the nose for not being happy with a 1.4??

    Any predictions for 2009?

They may look at sticking the carbon tax on electricity in the home. I've worked this out and if I'm right it will mean approximately €80 onto a domestic electricity bill per annum. So another tax to go with the 21%, oops make that 21.5% VAT that is on our electricity - the price of which is expected to rise again in January once the CER review the pricing structure.
