SAW V

Saw it on Friday night, and it wasn't great at all.

One tip I'll give you is that before you go, watch Saw IV. It picks up directly where Saw IV finished, and it took me 20 minutes to figure out what was going on (I saw Saw 4 about this time last year).

They are definitely setting it up for a big finale though... I know they've signed up for 2 more movies, and its obvious that they have a multiple movie story arc planned (for example,
what was in the box that John Kramer's wife got?
). Plus, lots of characters survived until the end, including
Julie Benz's character, who I think is a bigger part of the story..

This one was weak, but I'm interested to see what the overall plan for the next 2 is. Even the little flashbacky bit at the end with the Saw theme was low key and anticlimactic. Ah well...

    Roll on Saw VI (begrudgingly).

    My opinion here.

Woeful movie. Even worse then the 4th movie which to be honest, suddenly seems quite good in comparison. Bad acting, poor direction, totally aimless for the most part, rubbish traps (apart from the finale, admittedly that was almost a throwback to the good old days) and my god....the script, it was as if someone threw a few names into a piece of software called 'My first film script'.

Watched Saw III last night and although I remember at the time - its original release - thinking 'Hmmm, this is just alright', it's shocking how far since that second sequel the franchise has slipped and in hindsight Saw III was actually quite good. It's gone straight from good to terrible; no gradient whatsoever.

I was looking forward to Saw V as a potential remedy to the lackluster IV but after this disaster it can only get worse.

What an absolute waste of my time and their money. They should have left it at Saw imho. They're surviving by the gorey scenes, and even they're weak.

i saw the origial saw for the 1st time the other night and i really liked it , i watched the sequel last night and thought it sucked , while the original was fresh and original , the 2nd one was just another teen horror movie as evident by the cast

Saw V is the biggest pile of **** that I have had to endure in the cinema in a very long time. And that is no mean feat because I have had the misfortune of sitting through Good Luck Chuck and Wanted on the big screen.

I've seen 'The Hottie and the Nottie' and Saw V is still the worst film of the year.

I have never even heard of that one. I just checked wiki, I stopped reading after I saw Hilton was in it.:pac:

I was really disappointed in Saw V. It took 90 minutes to tell us very little and the tagline of the movie is false advertising because it's quite clear that this franchise hasn't ended.

not the best saw but still enjoyable if your a real fan of the series.

i didn't like the charachters in this movie at all.

In the first film I felt Adam and the Doctor(main guy) worked well together.

In the second one, I liked the mixture of charachters in the house.

in fact since the second one the charachters haven't really been all that great for me personally but all in all i'd give this a 6.5/10.

See this is my problem, if they are signed up for two more, they took liberties in this one and told us very little in the 'bigger picture'. It was a disgrace at how little was revealed. This isn't a weekly tv serial where 'filler' episodes are tolerated. That is what Saw V is, a 'filler' movie in a mammoth franchise and I felt very short-changed.

I have followed this franchise and I am a moderate fan but I don't think the franchise deserves any more films after this.

I heard that there is an extra scene after the credits which explains alot....
Static fills the screen, and it clears to show jigsaw's puppet. He slowly turns towards the screen, and you hear John Kramers deep voice... he says:

"As a cinema-goer, you have been coming to see these Saw movies over the last 5 years. The first one was quite clever with a good cast (apart from that donkey Carey Elwes), but they have gradually deteriorated over the years - the main actor in Saw II used to be in New Kids On The Block, and the 2 main actors from Saw V gave my wooden puppet a run for its money in acting ability. While Saw III would have been a logical end to the series, the idiots in the suits decided to milk the franchise for a few more dollars. Thank you for your €9.50, and see you next year, suckers."

Then the dummy starts laughing and the screen fades to black.

    Yep.

Saw it last night and was disappointed. The traps were all way to easy to get around. The whole fun of Saw has always been, holy sh1t what would I actually do in that situation?

Acting was terrible. Dialogue was rubbish. I agree with the filler film post, thats all Saw V is.
Trap 1: Choose one person to smash the boxes + give everyone keys.
Trap 2: How was it not obvious to them that more than one could fit in the tunnel?
Trap 3: Fair enough they were screwed with this one as they needed all 5.
Trap 4: When they seen the blades and figured they'd have to fill the jars with blood, they had not closed the door. Why not just fetch the body from the bath?

No blood flow in a dead body (no heart beat).

What part of a dead body
could you have put in the side of that machine that would have given 4 pints of blood in 15 minutes?

I like the saw movies, they are easy to watch. The traps are interesting, its gory and the twists are surprising. Gonna check this out anyway.
