u played well flushy, thought u'd get further.

i'm still in with second lowest chips at 25,000.

tried to commit hari kiri but was just given the blinds in the last hands, now i've to go back to the hotel to get them all in with ace 4 not suited.

brain no longer functioning. had mad marty to my left for 7 hours. want to die.
    DOC how many finished yesterday

  • Site Banned Posts: 5,676 ✭✭✭jayteecork

Is the high hand still the straight flush 23456?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,882 ✭✭✭Doc Farrell

    around 100.

two guys are sharing a royal flush when they played the board (really).

i still want to die. gonna take me an hour to get to the hotel.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,080 ✭✭✭HiCloy

No, now it's a royal flush which was on the board so the two players involved tied for it

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 96 ✭✭Germag

It would appear that there was 2 yes 2 royal flushes at table 1 or 2. 2 people all in and the board came the royal.

If I ever sober up my head is gonna hurt :(

Shall we have a poll on my push range?

  • Site Banned Posts: 5,676 ✭✭✭jayteecork

Lee's hand should still be counted as the high hand imo.

You should have to use one if not both of your hole cards to make the high hand, and Lee used both of his.

Carfax or Ciaran what's the situation here?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,854 ✭✭✭zuutroy

I went out at about 9pm yest. Was at a fairly solid table all day including a very good LAG Dutch girl. I never got anything going and only hovered between 7k and 14k all day. QQ twice was all I saw pre-flop worth talking about. Was at 7k and moved to Doc Farrell's table, shipped uncontested twice and then got AK UTG and couldn't get them in fast enough. BB has AA obv...gg. Jury's out on live poker, enjoyable but very sloooooow.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,120 ✭✭✭shrapnel222

out as well on the last level of last night. was struggling all day to stay average, anyway MP pushes all in for 40000, i call with QQ, he shows AK, flop KK3. after chip count, i turns out i have 40 500. so i get my 500 up to 8000, i'm utg and go all in with AK folded to BB who calls and show AJ, flop comes JJ4 gg gl. i'll be in for the side event today.

    FWIW I agree...

We had a straight flush at our table which might have been the highest hand but didn't go to showdown as other guy folded the river

Well six or seven players gone so far please do not quote me on this but I think Nicolas Jovanic was first to go. The one thing I have to acknowledge is (from an ousider who dos't play) how proffessional this event has been and it is a credit to al those involved, well done to all involved!

Hi just been chatting to Barney Gribban from Bangor the average stack is about 80 thousand, Barney is sitting with 60.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 749 ✭✭✭niallk

How many tables are left at the moment?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 938 ✭✭✭Grafter

Hard luck to Barney, he went all in with pocket queens, two callers one with pocket nines and one with ace, king. Flop gives Barney a set of queens and the first caller a set of nines, however the ace , king caught a straight and poor barney is away to bar to tell all who will listen to him what happened.

    Re Alternates:

There was no alternates put in the tournament. There was players added who had experienced difficulties registering, i.e. there was a dutch player, who had registered and paid in full, and is on all records bar the seating draw and final list of 650 for Friday. He was put in. There was a handful of bounty players added, BoyleSports clients etc, for example, Andy Black & HectorJelly. These players played at a disadvantage of late arrival and having a target on their back. There was no "arrive on the day and get in" if you have a friend who showed up and played there is 100% a reason for it.

Cheers Jeff, I thought there'd be a good reason for it.

Played Great poker yesterday Lol .. 3rd hand i see Ak in the bb cut off raises to 150 i make it 450 he makes it 1200 i make it 9800 to go he calls with Ak hearts and hits his flush big call that early for all his chips i had him on Aq and did not think he would call as he must have thought he was 50/50 at best .

Anyhow moved to the 2/5 holdem which was reckless made a few bob there and moved onto the 2-2 ohmaha , Excellent game of poker and made money here also.Standard was vg in the ohmaha

The event is what it is and the standard was poor including me but i cannot knock the way the logistics of the tournament are running , If u compare the Ipo to last year this event will go from strength to strength.Hats off to Poker Ireland and Boyles on the event as it is running well and there was no hiccups from the punters point of view . For players who only ever play at ground level and €150 is alot to them this event must be like the world series to these players .

Really have not seen that amount of french ever playing in my llife and thats including me playing in the Aviation club in Paris :D:D

    Anyhow well done all round

    Neill

Frank Kelly from Dungloe started today with about 37k, he is now sitting on 80k and I have to say the smile on his face tells a story, he is one very happy man and it is obvious to all around that he is enjoying every minute of this tournament

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,646 ✭✭✭cooker3

As expected lasted 10 minutes. Not disappointed although I wish I just busted Friday night and save me the hassle of the walk but there you go

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 938 ✭✭✭Grafter

Darragh Murphy from Dublin out in 140th position, 28k pushed all in with A,Q unfortunatly he got called with A,J suited and they caught a flush.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 938 ✭✭✭Grafter

Well we are that stage of the day when someone is going to be disapointed, next player out is not going to be happy will keep you posted.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,764 ✭✭✭DeadParrot

    any news on the yamaha?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 938 ✭✭✭Grafter

Well we have now reached the stage were all the players that are left are going to get paid. The Bubble has finally burst, Simeuni Poicce all in with Ace of spades and the five of hearts, Simon Knights , called with 5,7 diamonds. Flop came 2d, 9d, Ad and then there 135 players left

Went out in 2 hands yesterday.
Had stack up to a healthy enough 18K blinds 150 300
Made a hero call on a J 7 2 board when a player checked raised me all in for approximately 9K.
I bet 2k on the flop with QJsoooted, he shipped his 9 k over the line..
I called after a dwell, he turns over J 10
    turn is J
    river is 10:(:(:(

The couple of hands later, when im down to 7k or so,
I raise in mp with Ad 10d to 900, the the villian from above in sb say's raise and throws in 900 (he hadn't seen my initial raise), so he has to make it 1.8k he does.

Flop comes down 10 8 2 rainbow he bets 2.5k,,,,
i think about it for a while and eventually push my remaining stack in. he calls.I ask him if he has an overpair to the board, he says no.... I ask him again, just to make sure.

I then ask if he has hit a set, he says "No I have a pocket pair in my hand", nice one says I and I flip over my A 10,

    He turns over POCKET ACES:mad::mad::mad:

Then played cash in the 2 5 game for a while, got my initial €200 buy in up to €600 or so when this hand happens.

On a board of 6h 6c 8h 3h a player bets €270 all in, he had just looked at his hand again. I have pocket jacks and had raised preflop, he smooth called and check raised my €50 bet on the flop to €125.. I am thinking about this for about a minute maximum and this french guy at the table who was all in on a side pot of €28 total, starts banging the table with a coin

I ask him what his problem is he says "It's been like 5 mins or so, less of the drama lady",
God I so wanted to kick him in the goolies......
I told him I had a genuine decision so shut the f*ck up.

I eventually called and the guy turned over pocket Queens meh.... At this stage im beginning to dislike french poker players......

Moved to a 1 3 no limit cash table which Iona paul was at. It was an interesting table to say the least and if you wait and for a while you were definitely going to get a double up. I eventually did on a 10s Qs 2d board with all my money in the middle €275 holding pocket Aces being called
    by AJ offsuit:eek::eek:
    and AKs

9h turn and 9d river phew.....

Played the side event which was an absolute donkey fest beyond belief..... Made the structure of the Womens side event in the Irish open last year look like a deepstack tournament.

    Brillant atmosphere in the place,,,,
Hats off to Stephen Jeff, Boylesports for their hard work. (Side events need to be seriously looked at next year) not having the break until the 300 600 level with a 2k starting stack and 2K for a re-buy.... There were hardly anyone left able to top-up at the break for 3K....

    Roll on next year,

hows peter murphy - pete1234 doing?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 938 ✭✭✭Grafter

John Devlin from belfast has just had some bad luck as he was short stacked and on the button, went all in with 8's. Big blind called with 10-6 of suit flop came with a 10 and a 6, and just to add some more pain for John another 10 appeared on the turn. John finished in a 109th position and collects 360 euro's. The one thing I have to say is that he took it all in good spirit well done John.

Now down to sixty three players Gerard Ocallaghan went all in with J,Q of hearts and was called by A, K of hearts. Flop Js, Ad, Kc which unfortunatley left Gerard looking for a J next we had a 5d and then the 2q. After being put out Gerard was well pleased with how he played and thoroughly enjoyed the tournament. Well Done

I couldnt believe some of the french players, never seen anything like it. Uber tight, which was strange to say the least!

I got knocked out last night just before 9. Two hands done the damage, then it was a case of shoving my remaining 8 BBs for a bit before going bust.

Pretty sure there was s/o from boards at my table (8) yest - Tony I think his name was.

Fair play to Stephen, Jeff, Boyles etc for putting on a good show!
