Yep Sunday and Monday look like being pretty windy alright, lot will depend on the exact track of the lows, west coast and north looks most likely as usual to get the worst.

Certainly a windy spell forecast although I don't see anything exceptional in the charts, but as always, that could change.

Looking at the latest ECM run for next Wednesday:

there does seem to be a real threat potential, with a such sharp temperature contrasts over the near Atlantic, this could well lead to potant secondary troughs developing towards the end of next week. Could be one to watch, but at the same time, don't get your hopes up either. Real storminess seems to becoming a thing of the past. :o

From 10z Sunday morning looks to get wild for awhile mainly around the coasts of the west and NW with winds picking up a tad around the eastern seaboard for awhile in the afternoon. Very gusty generally around our shores.

Strongest gusts reaching higher 40's/low 50's so nothing too spectacular.

Of course the winds are accompanied by the obligatory rain:p

1200 hrs Malin head gusts of 53 knots but freshing all the time, no rain yet at time of posting. Atlantic Low now 967 and moving northeast and deeping to 947 by 0700 in the morning. Would suggest more fresh winds for tomorrow.

Expect some very strong gusts around 0600h in Dublin, possibly 55-60 mph from the SW to W, as a squall line feature seems to have developed. Well I suppose by the time you read this it will have come and gone.

Thursday looking quite windy on the latest model runs too, SSW 50-70 mph over the water and not much less than that on land.
