I get about 300 miles per tank, tank is 60 litres so that works out at about 23mpg.

    It's a good thing I don't do much mileage

Are you driving in traffic all the time? I also have a 01 318ci and the computer says 31mpg which is about right, that would be mixed driving but I do drive quite fast so its not terrible consumption. On a long drive I would get better mileage although driving at 80mph+ on motorways does get rid of fuel quickly.

Actually that really is bad mileage I got almost 300 miles out of just over half a tank on a long trip this week and I wasn't hanging around

    Get that checked mate, I've a 330ci clubsport and I get 21mpg, and I drive like a lunatic !

I use a little over 10l/100kms on a long run, around 13-14 the rest of the time.

Fairly close to mine, what you driving?
I get 11L/100km most of the time (25.6mpg), V10 TDI. 600km'ish per full (90L) tank.
Gonna be trying with Dipetane in the next fill.

63 mg urban claimed by manufacturer (and 75 mpg country). I checked it twice and I get 63 mpg.

Dublin/Killarney/Dublin recently on half a tank at 60 mph.

Earlier this year I went eleven weeks between fills.

    Toyota Yaris 1.4 diesel.

Focus 1.6 TDCi remapped to 118bhp showing 4.8l/100km-5.2/100km. I seem to be getting around 1000kms from tank, depending on the fuel I fill with.

Texaco/Esso :)seems to be best getting around late 900's in to 1000's, were as Emo/Topaz-Tesco/Applegreen/Top seems to get late 800's/early 900's.:(

Either you have a very big tank or that car is wasted on you. Oh, and there's only one z in Impreza. ;)

    I have a 06 Mondeo 2.0tdci 115bhp - dont have on board display.

But full tank until the fuel light comes on I only average 650km per tank - is this below normal? What would the MPG be? Im clueless....

The best way to calculate your actual mpg is to brim the tank, reset the trip odometer, and when the car needs refueling, take note of the litres of fuel to refill.
divide the km driven by the number of litres consumed, and theres your l/km reading.

What type of driving do you do - urban, or long distance?

    About 4gpm in the M1.

The S4's doing about 23mpg on the motorway, i'm happy with that from the V8.

    3.8l V6 in my Camaro's doing about 28mpg.

    And yes, I meant gpm.

American gallon slightly different to European gallon

You're getting 19.09mpg for the s4 and 23.24mpg for the camaro (multiply by 0.83)

I've got an e36, 318is - 140bhp, averaging 40mpg including long distance and spirited driving:)

I am surprised at the mileage you guys are getting from 520i and 528 i beemers. These are fine cars and can be bought with high spec at low prices at present. I am not sure of the motor tax on these but if they were to perform to around 40mpg , they would surely be a good buy:pac:

A 528i will only approach 40mpg if driven in such a way as to make owning a 528i pointless, if you know what I mean.

It's the other way around. I'm assuming that as the person who mentioned the S4 and the Camaro is a US resident, that person is using their(US) mpg rather than our mpg.

That being the case, his S4 does around 27 mpg and the Camaro does around 33.5 mpg, which is pretty impressive all things considered.

    I stand corrected!
