It got a bit of a pasting from What Car? when it was tested, and no doubt Toyota locally will bring in stripped out versions with nothing as standard.

Am I the only one who is distinctly underwhelmed by the interior?

From the side it looks like a squashed Terios. I wouldn't feel safe at all...

Is it an Aygo replacement or is it just a new, cheap as chips, Toyota.

No it's supposed to be a more upmarket car than the Aygo(though looking at that interior you wouldn't think so, looks as cheap as the Auris to me), and is another model to the range.

It will be considerably more expensive than the Aygo, think Yaris territory, but in the UK and Europe at least it comes with things like aircon and alloy wheels as standard. No doubt for Ireland all this sort of stuff will be removed though, given Toyota Ireland's long and distinguished history in removing stuff for the Irish market:rolleyes:.

It's meant to be a Smart car rival but with a 3+1 seating arrangement.

It does have the world's first rear curtain shield airbags though.

It's not even as ugly as i thought it would be.

new, small cars tend to be ugly as sin
