    Hi,

I have a Celica VVTI 2000. I changed the wheel to 19 inches ( was 17 before) a few month ago. I have now to pass the NCT this month and I am not sure it will go through due to the wheel's size.
Moreover, my spare room is a 17 inches.

Does anybody know if I need to change my wheels back to what I had before (I kept them in case).

    Thanks
    Olivieri

Yes they fit, I had to reduce the plastic protection behind the whell when I first put them, but it fit perfectly now.

your sapre does not have to be the same sixe just has to be secure, in fact you can just leave it at home. it will help with your weight and increase your rake efficientcy

If the spare is kept inside the boot, they do not check it at all as there is no madatory requirement to have one.

(They do check the ones that are bolted/caged underneath to ensure that they are secure).

Unless of course you are using the Celica as a taxi. Taxis must have a full size spare wheel. It relates to possible metering issues.

    Isn't the Celica a 2 door?

A taxi is required by law to have at least 4 doors.

If the celica was a taxi I would be in it each day :p

    Also you'll be fine OP.

OK, I had the NCT yesterday. No problem with the tyres size, and with the spare wheel (17", no, it's not a taxi :) but I will have a retest due to the wear of the back left tyre.

    Thanks for your help
