i would agree, it seems most likely as his character is at the uni stage, where its either leave te show or drop out of uni, and get a job in the bay

so i would say it will be his excuse for dropping out. esp now he is living with april as it will give them loads of the usual storylines,

having to cope with injury, stress, financial pressure..etc possible having to move back home again..etc

I wouldn't like to see Dex end his studies as a nurse tbh! He just seems perfectly suited to the position you know.

It could provide the perfect excuse but I hope it doesn't happen though. Oh! She is one evil maddam that Ruby! Been awhile since the show has had a character like her, but nothing ever runs smoothly in soapland for long though or they'd just loose viewers.

I think it is time one of the Braxton boys was killed off myself

Home and Away star Lincoln Younes has revealed that his character Casey Braxton will find himself involved in a hostage situation in an upcoming storyline.
Things go horribly wrong for Casey after he moves in with his villainous father Danny (Andy McPhee), keen to find out what he is up to once and for all.
Casey initially thinks that his plan is working well, but he is soon horrified when Danny forces him to be his accomplice as he attempts to carry out an armed robbery.
Younes told TV Week: "[Casey is] basically committed to the double agent act and because of this, he's decided that no matter what, he will get close to his dad in the hope that he will find out something dodgy about him and send him back to jail where he belongs.
"He realises how dangerous Danny truly is, and what that ends up leading to is a mess that involves him in an armed robbery."
Who will be held hostage in the robbery and where the incident takes place are yet to be confirmed.
However, as Casey is left terrified by the plans that Danny has for him, help could be on the way as Brax (Steve Peacocke) and Natalie (Catherine Mack) head to the scene.
Younes added: "They put two and two together and figure out what's going on and rush straight there, because they're very worried. Natalie, because she's met Danny and has heard all the stories from Brax, and Brax has lived through what he's like, so it's a high-risk situation."
Reports suggest that a gun will be fired as the plot reaches its climax, but details of what happens next are being kept under wraps until transmission.
Home and Away airs these scenes next week on Network Seven in Australia, and in October on Channel 5 in the UK.

anyone else get freaked out by the heath and bianca scene in todays episode?

they are sleeping together, in the same room and the same bed as when he was sleeping with her sister (as if that itself isn't weird enough?)

Home and Away's series producer Lucy Addario has revealed that viewers can expect "an avalanche of emotions" in the aftermath of the soap's dramatic event week.

Episodes airing on Australian screens this week feature a devastating car crash and a dangerous hostage situation involving the Braxtons.

Show bosses have previously teased that one character will not make it through the week, although it is currently unclear whether the death will come from the crash or hostage drama.

Addario, discussing the fallout from the two incidents, told TV Week: "The whole town is dealing with the aftermath and shock of the past week's events - there is an avalanche of emotions. Many residents are dealing with grief, shock and anger.

"It will take a long time to heal, and families and friendships will definitely be fractured. The consequences are ongoing."

Firm details of both stories are still being kept under wraps until transmission. However, it has been confirmed that Ruby Buckton's actions will be one focus of discussion in the Bay when it is revealed that she tampered with the car that crashed.

Viewers will also see the local residents gathering for a funeral following the mystery death.

Of the funeral, Addario added: "People are still coming to terms with what's happened. For many people a funeral means closure, but in this case the grief could tear relationships apart rather than bringing them closer together. This could be the ultimate test to unite or divide a family."

Home and Away airs the funeral scenes next week on Network Seven in Australia, and in October on Channel 5 in the UK.

Knowing Home & Away the death will probably be a minor character. There is plenty of characters could do with being killed of all the Braxtons (I think they have dragged the show down), Bianca, April and Ruby. I am disappointed to hear that the door is being left open for Ruby to return an unlikeable and now pointless character.

I wish RTE would follow Channel 5's idea and show classic episodes during it's scheduled breaks. The UK is getting some great episodes at the moment.

They always say "the door has been left open for a return". It basically just means that the character isn't being killed off. They only ever return if they can't get work somewhere else and are hard up. Given that she doesn't really have any proper family connections in the bay any more, I can't see how they'd ever bring her back, unless it's years in the future like with Roo.

As far as the death goes, I hope it's not Natalie. I quite like her for starters, but I know her and Brax were kind of getting together and I really don't want to have to see another 6 months of Brax brooding and being a miserable auld bugger.

    .

i think the problem with Rebecca is not she has work elsewhere, but i think she was arguing over the terms of her contract and pay, so if she decides to accept their pay terms ruby will be back! :pac:

Maybe, I can't say I heard anything about that. Might explain why they've completely destroyed the character this past year or so then. :p

She has been on the show for quite a while though. Especially by the standard for the younger people. She must've been in school for about 4 years and she's been out a year or so now. That's quite a long stint for a teen on the show. Plus with all her family being dead it's much harder to keep her around. Whatever, I liked her when she first came into the show, but she's been a pain in the hole for well over a year now. Good riddance to her.

I'm sure the Aussie magazines have that covered. I could have read it wrong but I think a magazine covered the actual proposal, like had photographers on the holiday with them when he did it, and then they had to keep quiet about it until the magazine came out.

Always weird hearing her talk with her proper accent. Do you think they're going to have April fail her exams AGAIN? The only thing that affected her last year was her OCD, I think, and she still failed. This year she broke up with Dex, fell out with Bianca, was skipping school to be with Heath, the whole Bainca's gone crazy bit, and now Dex. It'd be a miracle if she passed.

Home and Away star Charles Cottier has promised that there are emotional scenes ahead as his character Dexter Walker fights for his life.

The latest Home and Away episode to air on Network Seven in Australia saw Dex at the centre of a horrifying road accident after borrowing his sister Indi's car.

As Indi's brakes had been tampered with by her vengeful love rival Ruby Buckton, Dex lost control of the vehicle in explosive stunt scenes.

Upcoming episodes will see Dex's life hang in the balance as he receives emergency treatment in hospital.

Cottier told Home and Away's official website: "Get ready for the biggest thing ever to happen to my character and one of the biggest things to happen on the show for a long time. It's massive - you're going to be weeping like I was!"

The actor also praised Home and Away's team for the "fantastic" crash sequence, which was filmed with a stunt double before Cottier was brought in for the aftermath scenes.

He said: "The car landed upside down, which is perfect because Dex is trapped in the car. I was in this upside-down car, so it was really hot. It was kind of a good experience at the same time!"

Meanwhile, writing on his Twitter page after the broadcast, Cottier said: "I'm ok people. Big few weeks coming up for Dex though....gotta pull through this $h!t man! Nice to know you all care though. Make sure you all keep watching to see if dex will make it through the next couple of weeks! (sic)"

Home and Away star Rebecca Breeds has thanked fans for their support following her on-screen exit from the soap.

The latest episode to air on Network Seven in Australia saw the actress's character Ruby Buckton bid farewell to Summer Bay after confessing to a terrible crime.

Earlier this week, Australian viewers saw Dexter Walker (Charles Cottier) at the centre of a horrifying road accident while driving his sister Indi's new car. The incident was a result of Ruby tampering with the brakes in a desperate attempt to get rid of Indi.

Plagued with regret and realising that she deserved to be brought to justice, Ruby handed herself in to the police after saying a final farewell to Brax (Steve Peacocke).

Writing on Twitter today (August 15), Breeds told followers: "Thank you. Such beautiful feedback. So sad that it's all over, but kind of relieved to let poor Ruby go and heal... And my Eyes.. Love you."

Breeds's fiancé Luke Mitchell, who plays Romeo Smith on the show, paid tribute to the 25-year-old on his own Twitter page after the episode had aired.

Mitchell tweeted: "Ladies & Gentlemen, put your hands together for the incomparable Miss Rebecca Breeds! #HollywoodIsWaiting #HomeAndAway"

Meanwhile, Lincoln Younes - better known as Casey Braxton - wrote: "Congratulations to @BecEBreeds on a phenomenal last episode... It was a pleasure working with you. See you on bigger and better things!!! X"

News of Breeds's decision to leave Home and Away first emerged in May and was confirmed the following month.

Home and Away fans in the UK will see Ruby's final scenes on Channel 5 on Wednesday, October 10.

You can say that again! Glad the brax brothers are still there though. Now, we just need a decent storyline for them, but after this I'd say the bigger storylines will go elsewhere and we could see less of them for a wee while.

Home and Away star Rebecca Breeds has been cast in her first US television role in a single-camera comedy pilot.

Deadline.com reports that the planned series also stars Chris Smith, Kal Penn and Tony Shalhoub and tells the story of a young guy (Smith) who befriends a ladies' man (Penn) and four-time divorcee (Shalhoub) in his apartment complex.

The website says that Breeds will play the "adorable, independent and neurotic daughter" of the divorcee.

Breeds is best known for her role as Ruby Buckton in Home and Away.

So i guess she's gone for a good while anyway, kind of surprised she is stateside while luke is still in Aus.

Pilots being made now would be for next season's pick ups, so it's basically a one episode job, with no guarantee of the show getting picked up, or of her still being in it if it does get picked up. Just look at Amy Huberman, she was in the pilot of Animal Practice this year, but when they picked up the show they recast her part.

Luke can't be that far off quitting either, he arrived around the same time as Ruby, I'm sure, so he's been there a while now.

    and according to spoilers
Romeo and indi get back together so i can't see Luke leaving anytime soon

It's amazing how many actors were awful on H&A who are now massive in the US. I think soaps don't really allow for someone's actual skills to show. I remember the guy that played Jack saying after he left that he hated working on the show because they were working at such a fast pace that the directors didn't care if the scene they shot was good or not, just as long as it was in the can and they could move on to the next one.

Yeah I saw that coming yesterday with his internet viewing once Roo left the kitchen. Their really is no quick fix to his situation, but soap-land being soap-land are showing something that does happen IRL by a minority.

Has anyone in Aussie soap land ever had to take medication without getting addicted to them? The junkie/alco stories are usually a sign that the character has run it's course.

    HELP!

His name is Radek Jonak. He played someone called Logan Roth on H&A in 2008, not sure who that was? He's been on All Saints and McLeods Daughters too.

    EDIT: Found this....
Logan was one of Johnny Cooper's henchman, he was set up in an illegal fight club match against Ric Dalby, who he believed was responsible for Johnny's death. Ric was suffering from pnuemonia at the time, so Logan beat him so easily that the punters thought there had been a fixing with the match.

In the rematch, Logan fought Ric again, and was winning. The fight was dispersed by the ambulance sirens but continued after being held hostage by a gun wielding Noel Anderson. The fight was stopped by Tony after Noel was arrested.

Casey Braxton, who is set to go to prison for shooting his dad, is knocked unconscious by a man named Kyle who has been spying on him for weeks.

Speaking to TV Week, Lincoln Younes, who plays Casey, said: "Casey's knocked out and comes in and he's in the outback and doesn't know what has happened to him or how long he's been there.

"There has certainly been someone watching him for a few weeks, which you've seen snippets of, and the inference is that it's related to his dad."

He added: "There is a big reveal. It's a shocking revelation and Casey is obviously confused when the revelation comes out.

"He is slowly realising the repercussions of shooting his dad have extended further than he first thought. I think Casey is realising there are bigger consequences to what he's done - one's he couldn't have predicted."

When Casey disappears, Brax believes that he has taken flight to avoid his court appearance.
