Mate says the battery needs a 'boosting' and the electric windows will be fine.
    Does that sound right?
    Most garages do it?

Is your car starting straight away??
If so then its not the battery but the motors need attention.

If theres not enough charge in the battery to operate the windows, then there would certainly not be enough to start the car to begin with. I take it you have checked the fuse ?

Probably a fuse, sounds like the most probable explanation.

Start with the easy stuff and rule things out from there.

Does the central locking still work, usually a dead battery would cause the central locking not to work too afaik.

No everything else is fine. Its just the driver window.

    What is the car?

So it's only one window, not all of them?

    What car is it??

Mine had the same issue and it was a chain of things that stopped it. It worked 30% of the time. It was blown bulbs that when not replaced ended up blowing the fuses the whole time.

It's not the battery then. It is possible it is a problem with the regulator. Make and model might help.

    +1.

My brother had one and they either wouldn't work at all or would go up/down by themselves.

    it might be the button/switch

Swap it with the passanger side swich.. and see what happens

Rather than doing that, you can just use a volt meter.

Put the leads on the window regulator side and if the voltmeter jumps up to the battery voltage when the button is switched, then it is okay.

There is no need to double your work :)
