Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hello all,

I have to swallow my pride and sign on in the next day or so. I remember trying to make an attempt at it a few years ago and they were looking to interview my father etc! It was all to much hassle so I didn't bother going through with it.

However, I am back to being a Job Seeker now and I would like to know what exactly I will need this time around. Am I right in saying that it is a bit more straight forward now that I am over 30?

I presume I will need photo ID, proof of address, letter from landlord?, PPS number. Is there anything else required?

    Thanks

It makes no difference whatsoever now that you are over 30.

Oh I thought if you were under 30 it was means tested and they had to evaluate your parents income and all that!

    Nope.

Have a look at this link too as you may only be eligible for Jobseekers Allowance.

Thanks for the info! They will require a P60 and P45 too! God knows where my P60 is and my employer never sent a P45! :(

Bring some proof of looking for work such as email or letter replies from advertised job queries.

Bring your passport or long birthcert too....
there are long delays in the dole due to the number of people signing on
I signed on in Limerick last week was number 500+ had to go back in with my passport decisions was number 667... (it was quite scary the amount of people signing on)
The dole office was closing at 2pm to catch up with the amount of people signing on, so the soon you go the better...
Now I am waiting for an accessement.... (hear there is long delays in that too)!!

Sooner I get a job the better but its not looking too good!
