Best "portable" guide to China

Hi All
I shall soon be heading off to china
Will be spending 4 days in each of Beijing, Shanghai and HK

Just wondering if anyone had any recommendations for a portable guide to china?

You know the type - mini city guide, places to go, what to see and a few words

I will be travelling to a lot of other countries before/after China so woul like it to be as small/concise as possible(like one of those collins mini dictionaries i used to have in school!) and not a Tome like the rough guides, lonely planet or fodors
