A beginners Guide

Hi I have a quick question. Basically I did a couple of semesters of C++ programming in college and enjoyed it. However it had very little to do with my coarse so I didnt have many classes. I have a basic understanding of it and would be interested in doing a bit more. Would anybody have a link to a good beginners guide? The more basic the better! Or maybe a basic guide to Java. Any recommendations welcome!

TBH I'd recommend learning a Java. Then you can move onto things like Ruby on Rails if you find you wanna throw out some simple web apps.

I like to use the head first labs series, it's a good foundation that'll cut out bad habits before they start.

Once you've mastered java it's pretty easy to pick up any language
