Sister's fiesta had a fuel tank leak. The tank has been replaced, but the fuel guage is stuck on full.

The original fuel pump was put back in, and the dash was fine before the tank was replaced.

    Any ideas?

    Martin

Have you check the connections between the tank and the gauge?

I have been out of the car game for 15 years now but here go's
As the previous poster mentioned first check connections, then if all else fails, it may be a fault with the fuel gauge arm in the tank.
Depends on the year of the car but on the top or side of the tank there will be a round fitting with an electronic connector. the guage is likely to be a float system similar in looks to what you find in a toiled systern

Sometimes the float arm gets stuck and this sounds like it may be the case, then your gauge on the dash would read full all the time. This is not a big job to replace the fuel gauge sensor but seek professional advice if this is needed as the tank needs to be drained and then its easy enough if your able.

try www.honestjohn.co.uk then go into the backroom, there is a fantastic forum for technical advice, you will nee to register but one you have, post your problem and the site has thousands of specialists that have seen every problem before its a great resource for problem solving
