Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Does anyone know how to get rid of an old king size bed?
When buying our new bed, and paying for delivery out to Claregalway, none of the furniture stores said they would take away our old bed.

I think there's a council-run collection service you pay a nominal fee for. Does anyone know the details?

There is a council place in Lisboan Estate in the city that will take metal etcetera but not wood. Go Sat morning. It's free.
For wood either burn it or go to Barna Waste on Headford Rd.

Thanks Biko, but it's a King-size bed and my problem is that I can't take it anywhere myself, as it's too big!

I'm specifically looking for someone to collect it.

    Is it in terrible nick?
If not, you could post it on freecycle, the yahoo group or jumbletown.ie
A fair number of people who want stuff offer to collect.

    Interesting how times change.....
You can not bring items like this to the various recycling companies. They used to pay for metal. Not sure if this is still the case.
They charge a nominal amount for some recycleables.
