Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Those virile Norwegians, what are you gonna do with them?

Havent really seen Villa play in a while except on MotD and have to say Luke Young has come on leaps and bounds since the last time I saw him play properly

How is it decided who you play home and away?

Dont know how they decided but theres some rule UEFA made so you know in advance every year by pot you were drawed out from which teams from which pot you will play against at home and which as a guest, example,Partizan was in pot 4 this year so they will play against team from pot1 and pot 2 on a side and against teams from pot 3 and pot 5 at home, and team from pot 2 will play team from pot 1 and pot 3 at home and pot 4 and 5 away and so on....

What pot you come out of has nothing to do with it. After the draw is done, Uefa allocate a place in the group to each team (A-E) based on a series of complex factors, including certain countries problems with weather for home ties (Russia in December etc), clashes with domestic competition (such as the Carling Cup a few years ago), clashes with other sides playing in same city on same matchday.

Once the positions are decided, then a standard draw calendar is used, so depending on your position you will be home/away/day off on certain days.

Oh, and I got stick for saying a few weeks that £8 million was mad money for Gomes.

Not quite true cha', you were rightly challenged on your point that it was a lot to spend on a goalkeeper with no PL experience, I don't believe you made any significant assessment of the player himself.

The thread ain't too far away if you want to check.

Was a howler by him last night, no mistake. I was freezing my balls off in the away end (never wear short sleeves and no jacket in Northern Italy in October...;)) and couldn't believe he did what he did. Thing is, he made some amazing stops during the game, but you could see from the way he trudged off the field that his confidence is shattered. With Woody and King injured for Sunday, and Dawson suspended, he'll have the comfort of either Zokora or Huddlestone as a CB partner to Corluka (presuming he's recovered from last week), so he won't get much chance to boost his confidence there...

That's assuming Ramos doesn't play Pavlyuchenko at CB...
