    Messureing up for UPVC Doors

    Hi folks

Any Window/ door installers about, ( Put this in DIY but not sure if its the Correct place,)

Getting and Extension build and, a seperate supplier will be installing the

The Back door will be a Standard white kitchen door, What Should i get him to build the surrounds to? in millimetres,
From Looking around it seems the Standard Size door is 2085mm x 920mm (Im More than likley incorrect here so) So Should i just tell him the Door will be this size and he will build the blocks for this size?

And also the White upvc french doors with be 5ft width so Im looking at
    2090mm x 1524mm ?????

    Any Advise would be great?

    Thanks

    R

you would want around 20mm clearance on each side and top of the frame so you can get it in and plumb it up. If its to tight it will end in tears.

It would be wise to contact the door supplier and find the exact measurement of the outside of the frame. and ask the blockys to make it 40-50mm bigger than that. Ye can shim it in with packers later and seal it up with expanding foam before the plaster goes on.

Leave out the bottom blocks and back that up with strong sand and cement later. making sure not to damage the DPM.
