For the threadheads among us. Got this from a book concerning the German PanzerTruppen of WWII. Now if only I could sing in German......

Whether in storm or in snow
whether the sun smiles on us
    the day blazing hot
    or the night ice cold
    our faces are dusty
    but our spirits are cheerful
    yes,our spirits are cheerful
our tank roars into the windstorm.

    With thundering engines
    as fast as lightening
    we engage the enemy
    safe in our tanks
    far ahead of our comrades
    in battle we stand alone
    yes, stand alone
    we strike deep
    into enemy territory.

    If an enemy tank
    appears in our sight
    we ram throttles full
    and close with the foe
    we give our lives freely
for the army of our relam
    yes,the army of our realm
    to die for Germany
    is our highest honour.

    With barriers and tanks
our opponent tries to stop us
    we laugh at his efforts
    and travel around them
    and when uns threatingly
    hide in the yellow sand
    yes,hide in the yellow sand
    we search for paths
    no-one else has found.

    And if some day
    faithless luck abandons us
    and we can't return home
    the deadly bullet strikes
    and fate calls us
    yes,fate calls us
    then our tank is
    and honourable grave.

I can't see youtube in work (so cant find a link) but I there are original recordings of them singing that available on there - put to panzer footage.

I had read the words in a book not too long ago as well, and also found them pretty interesting.

I tried singing that once (In the German) in the back of an FCA lorry heading for Kilbride. It didn't go over all that well.

However, I have found kindered spirits here in the US. A group of five of us belted out the first verse at full volume down a local restaurant after touring the Littlefield museum. I'd say we got some odd looks, but considering the location's normal clientele, it wouldn't be any more unusual an event than many other things that go on there.

    NTM

This is a good one too. Not a bad movie either!
