Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back a page or two to re-sync the thread and this will then show latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

8 weeks but smaller breeds are better off left until they are 10 weeks.

There is a lot of difference of opinion on this topic. Most people reckon that 8 weeks is best. However, puppies go through their first fear period between 8 and 12 weeks, but also they are in their prime socialisation period at this time.

Because of this some feel that just before 8 weeks can actually be the best time, this way they won't get too scared by the sudden change, but won't miss out on the most important socialisation period. If the breeder is really good and will be socialising the pups really well then it might be better for the pups to stay with mum till after the 12 weeks, but considering there's a lot of dodgy breeders out there it might be best not to take the chance.

Can't say about small breeds but 8 weeks at least for the big ones.
You'll know when they become more interested in you than the mother.
