Leaving Course What Should I Do (Regarding Grants)

Hello, I recently registered for and started a masters course in Trinity but for numerous reasons (unrelated to the course itself) it looks like I will have to drop out of the course quite soon.

I was approved for a grant (which I was also getting during my undergraduate period). I havn't yet collected the first installment of the grant but I believe it is now in.

So here's my problem, if I leave the course (and presumably give back the grant installment I have gotten) will I be eligible for a grant next year if I apply to another course?

To make matters more complicated, if I do apply to a course next year it will likely be for a HDip course. I was told previously that it's only possible to get a grant for courses which are seen as a progression from the previous course (ie. undergraduate course-masters-phd for example) so seeing as I would be dropping out of a Masters now would that negate me from getting a grant for a HDip course for next year even though I've only been in the course for two weeks?

Also, I heard from a friend that if you drop out of a course before the 1st of november and give back any grants youve received that you can still get a grant if you do a course the following year. Anyone know if this is true as if so I need to act quickly.

Any advice as to what I should/could do would be greatly appreciated or if someone could tell me who I could contact about this?

    Thanks in advance
