funny noise

    while i'v been driving lately i'v been hearing a noise from the front of the car. when i press on the brake the noise stops. its a 02 punto

    anyone know this could be?

    its like a squeaky noise. thought i could of been a stone stuck in between the treads. it could be just dirt as i drive in loads of floods these days.

    @ OP

    most likely something wrong with your brakes.

    Either dirt between pads and disc or possibly brake not fully opening any more.

    Best get it checked out.

    well i'v just drove the car for 20 miles wasn't making any noise. haven't changed the brake fluid in 2 years

    In that case it probably was just dirt (from the floods)

    (brake fluid has nothing to do with noise and doesn't need to be changed every year. Check your manual for the correct change interval)
