Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Great enthusiasm, and unlike others in his field, just loved to talk about football. No hidden agenda, or taking snipes at others.

From what I know, he was signed up to either ESPN or STAR Networks, one of them, to be their lead guy for EPL coverage. Great opportunity and you can't blame him really. There definitely seems to be a glass ceiling in Sky. Look at the amount of people who jumped ship to Setanta. Blokes like McCafferry should have pushed Richard Keys out of a job a long long time ago.

Could never stand the guy - some of the stuff he came out with on goals on Sunday was cringe inducing. Having said that, can't stand Richard Keys either.

Yip,he works for Showtime Arabia now presenting their English Premiership coverage.
I liked him ,he was probably too colourful for Sky.

Yeah I liked him on You're On Sky Sports. The banter between him and Rodney Marsh was excellent, particularly when Rodney brought in the gong.

On a side note, I miss Rodney Marsh. :(

Funnily enough McCaffrey is managed by RAM Sports Management, Rodney Marsh's agency. McCaffrey actually hosted the phone-in show for which Marsh was sacked by Sky for "a tasteless remark".Ironic.

Absolute madness that was. Sure, maybe suspend him for a month or so, but Marsh was the best colour guy Your On Sky Sports or Soccer Saturday ever had. In a sense, the closest the English had to a Dunphy.

I'll never forget him getting his head shaved after Bradford stayed up.

PC BS like that pisses me off to no end.

Yeah Marsh was quality entertainment alright, sometimes controversial just for the sake of it but pretty funny about it at the same time.

Yeah I agree. I always saw him as a Dunphy-style straight talker. He could be very funny as well. I loved it when he brought the gong on to You're On Sky Sports and when a caller would come out with silly comments he'd have his arm hovering near it threatening to sound it. :D

One moment sticks out in my mind. Some woman came on and started spouting a lot of rubbish to which Rodney bangs his gong and says, "I'm sorry but I'm going to have to cut you off...because you are talking bollocks." It was past the watershed but I still laughed my arse off.
